If there were demons on earth, they would ALL be in one place, and that is D.A.R.P.A. the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Everyone there would be possessed, from the clerk who welds pieces together to the top commander.
Demons would not haunt abandoned houses, they would not torment poor and ignorant farmers, they would not bother with the common people. They would all want to boost the high tech weaponry and advanced artificial intelligence. They would be where it's worthwhile.
But given that the D.A.R.P.A is run by sane people with no megalomaniac tendencies and given that the D.A.R.P.A. is only receiving limited funding from the government, then I can positively assure you that there is no such thing as demons on earth.

Who Really Rules
the World?
Many people would answer the above question with a single word—God. But significantly, nowhere does the Bible say that either Jesus Christ or his Father are the real rulers of this world. On the contrary, Jesus said: "The ruler of this world will be cast out." And he added: "The ruler of the world is coming. And he has no hold on me."—1. John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11.

Yes. Everything in nature has balance. There are good people and, therefore, there are also bad people, called demons.

Jesus both healed the sick and cast out demons. I'd take his view that they DO exist as more knowledgeable than anybody else.

Sure there are. Last year someone who was posessed by a demon showed up at our church office and a Pastor had to cast it out in Jesus' name.
Another person who lived down the street from me wasn't so fortunate. He was possessed by a demon and his family didn't know what was going on because they weren't Christians. So he was walking around naked in his house and raving for a couple of weeks until they finally called the police. The police came and tried to subdue him with stun guns and such but they didn't have any effect because of the powerful demon that had gotten ahold of him and they ended up shooting him and killing him.
Mark 5:1 Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gadarenes.
2 And when He got out of the boat, immediately there met Him from the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 who had his dwelling among the tombs. And no one could bind him, not even with chains,
4 because he often had been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the shackles had been broken, and no one was able to subdue him.
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and bruising himself with stones.
6 But seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran and worshipped Him,
7 and crying out with a great voice he said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure You by God, do not torment me!"
8 For He was saying to him, "Come out from the man, unclean spirit!"
9 And He was asking him, "What is your name?" And he answered, saying, "My name is Legion; for we are many."
10 And he was imploring Him many times that He would not send them out of the region.
11 Now there was a large herd of pigs feeding there near the mountain.
12 So all the demons implored Him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter them."
13 And immediately Jesus gave them permission. And when the unclean spirits came out, they entered into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, (there were about two thousand) and drowned in the sea.
14 But those feeding the pigs fled, and they reported it in the city and in the country. And they came out to see what it was that had happened.
15 Then they came to Jesus, and observed him who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and having been clothed and being of sound mind, and they were afraid.
16 And those who saw it related to them how it happened to him who had been demon-possessed, and about the pigs.
17 Then they began to implore Him to go away from their region.
18 And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed implored Him that he might be with Him.
19 But Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, "Go home to your own family, and report to them all the things that the Lord has done for you, and how He had compassion on you."

Demons are angels exiled from Heaven. When they were ousted from Heaven, where do you think they went?
