They aren't siblings but only 6 months apart in age; got when each was a kitten. Star is 18 pounds, lazy, super friendly, talks to me, likes the dog, doesn't go outside in winter and likes to be brushed. Mandy is 9 pounds, goes outside most of the time, goes for walks with the dog and I but hates the dog, scratches strangers and hates to be brushed.

All creatures have personalities that are disparate from each other. Genetics, environment, emotional disposition, etc all play parts in the development and maturation of personality. Cats are no different from these influences than you and I are. {smile}

its like siblings they are raised the same but usually are not clones of one another. i have two dogs and i know what you mean when you say they are exact opposites, the male the one a person would think would be tough is such a pansy if a new person comes up to the dogs he runs off and hides, probably would pee himself if he wasn't housebroke, but the female she will bark at new people and she sounds mean when she does it but once i say princess muffie stop she is fine with the new person. they have the most different personalities ever imaginable. even though they are so different i love them both i love my cat too!

2 Children raised the same way...can have opposite personalities.
That's just the nature of Genetics!...Each person or animal is an Individual, with varying characteristics/traits passed on through the Parents' DNA's.

They are very much like people and develop different habits,likes and dislikes.I think they may be born with some character.I only can have one in door cat where I live but I used to have three when I had my house.I love them.The one I have now is black,white and tan.She loves me unconditionally as I do her.

Cats are most likely the weirdest, most unique pets ever. Cats just have different personalities, like humans. even twins are completely different most of the time.

I have twin sisters, can't get more similar then that and raised by same parents. All 3 of us are completely different. Just how people, and animals, are wired.

Each Cat is different, 1 Cat I use to have would meow only when in heat or if she was Hungry but the other would meow if ya petted him.
