Can anybody tell me in general how much our body actually absorbs comparing multivitamins to actual foods? i.e. If a box of cereal says it provides 50% daily recommend of folic acid, and a vitamin says the same.. does our body absorb both in the same manner?

Pressed vitamin tablets do not absorb as well; try taking a liquid vitamin; vitamins in food that are there naturally are chelated by the plant which means that they are bio-available. As for fortified cereals? Actually, I don't know!
