I would say to install either ceramic, porceilan or some sort of natural stone for your flooring in your entry, kitchen, breakfast, hallbath(s), masterbath and patio(s). Install the same tile(s), on your tub surround(s), tub deck(s), shower(s) and even your countertops, if you desire. There are many styes, colors, sizes and patterns to choose from. Take your time. In your living room, I would put some hardwood floors in (glue down floor). In the bed room, I would install carpet. It's nice and inviting. Once you have your floors decided, the wall colors should compliment the floors. Earth tones are always great. Good luck. El Toro Malo.

I like the antique look for furniture and I like the country fruit theme in the kitchen like apples or roosters. I think dolphins or something to do with the sea is cool in a bathroom. And bedrooms look good in earth tone colors. I think you could get a ton of ideas at http://www.mygiftshopper.com They have like 900 items on their website and more in a catalog they have. If you contact them and tell them what you are looking for they will find it or send you a magazine. Their e mail is davidandnicole@mygiftshopper.com and shipping is free over 50 dollars!!! You should really check it out.

Just a thought... If you need to ask, you might want to get in contact with an Interior Designer in your area. Talk with several and you will find one that meets your needs.

you have to understand your style. design of house also can guide you. if its a cape, go country. big colonial, go a bit formal. this is a simplistic view. i feel that use of one or two major focal points in a room , adding small details, such as a rug, vase or painting will always work. too much and it looks cluttered and fussy. better homes and garden has a great site to help you.
