My girlfriend has some health prob that her doctor is trying to figure out. She will pass out alot. Sometimes daily, sometimes more then 1 time daily. We do not know what is wrong with her, but all we know is that she passes out w/o feeeling anything, and comes too, scared, dizzy, and tired. Sometimes it takes 5 min for her to cometoo sometimes 15. My question is this, When she does what should I do? I havnt been alone w/ her when it has happened, but her parents have to go away and i am going to be w/ her the majority of the time. And when she does come-too is there anything I shud do for her? Like give her something to drink or anything? Any advice wud help, She says she has a doctor appt. in 2 weeks, but I need to know what to do til then.,

Yes her parents know..She has been seen about it, and it was 1 week ago that she had been seen the 6th time. It has been about 3 months since it started.

If this helps, she is 16.

It depends on how long this has been happening. It is NOT normal. has she seen a doctor before for this problem? do her parents know about this? if not, TELL her parents right away. since you do not know why she faints, it could be her heart.
If she were my daughter, I would either make sure the doc sees her tomorrow, or take her to the ER.
this is a serious problem. do not wait.

Syncope is the technical term for what you are describing: a symptom, not a disease.

She should have a complete blood work-up, as well as check her heart rhythms and blood pressure. Is she on any kind of medication? Some medications can lead to that as well, esp. if you move too fast from a sitting to a standing position.

she has a good point does your girlfriend get dizzy on hot sunny days in the sun? I know I do a little and yes I do have syncope
but it can be controlled with out drugs and good eye sight(Glasses might be a answer or in part with good platform shoes for me it was) But mine is not that bad sleep affects that too or lack of more!! make sure she gets her sleep if that is it then again it also sounds like it might be a blood deficiency and the blood test should pick that up if it is I truly wish her well and also you all the luck in the world. dreamweaver10@verizon if you want to talk to me about anything I will listen

I can't believe the doctor is waiting 2 weeks before he wants to see her...That's rediculous. There probably isn't anything you should do, except maybe take her pulse, and make sure she is breathing ok. Note anything that she does right before losing consciousness. Make a note of how long she is unconscious. Personally if it was me, I'd call the ambulance.

Mompoo is right! Call an ambulance next time it happens. Doctors won't take it seriously until she is in the hospital for it! A good friend of mine has 5months to live because they didn't take his headaches seriously!

I say pray for her and her well-being..let God take care of it...and if she wants anything ask her first...then get it for her..be supportive and help her get threw this...until the doctors figure out what's wrong..just be loving and caring...tell her you love her EVERY chance you get...because it might be too late before you get too...
Hope it helps...and sorry if you're not Christian...it won't really help...but i will pray for her
hope she gets better!

dearest mark,
I am hoping that you and your girlfriend are close enough so that you can talk to this very import change in your lives together. be up front and tell her that you are nervous and would love some advice on how you could make her feel better, warm, and feel loved.

If it needs 2 weeks to see doctor "A", go to doctor "B". Don't wait!
