Yes. As a person gets older, the likelihood of developing allergies increases. Over time, the body becomes sensitised to things that used to never cause an allergic reaction before. Those with pre-existing allergies are much more likely to develop allergies as they age, and are more likely to develope severe allergies than the average person.

Yes, our bodies can become allergic to anything over time. From what i know, we become more allergic to something the more we are exposed to it. So if you are for example eating peanuts as a snack every day then your body will get tired of them all the time and develop a way of telling you that enough is enough. I am sorry for anyone who has a nut allergy because it is not only peanuts that you have to look out for, even on cerial packets it tells you if they have been prepared near an area when nut particals could be!

YES! I THINK it happened to me. It's all VERY complicated and depends if you are allergic to other things. Like for me, I'm allergic to nuts..like walnuts, etc. I always ate peanuts and nothing happened. I had a 1 month period of eating honey roasted peanuts and peanut butter NONSTOP...then I started developing reactions to it.
To this day...I can't really tell WHAT I'm allergic to. It could be the fact that the peanut is roasted...or they machines they use to process it touched WALNUTS. I found that eating boiled peanuts was SAFE for me....the proteins in the Peanut change when you boil it, and when you roast it. Like in China, they boil there peanuts...and NO ONE is allergic to it. The reason so many Americans are having reactions is PROBABLLY because we roast our peanuts. But I would'nt try eating one....maybe if you were already in an emergency room ...then sure. I was willing to take the risk and try it...only because I LOVE PEANUTS SO MUCH!
