The American people live in a repressive and corrupted regime with low wages, poor health and education services. Fraud, lies, financial and military scandal are in the news everyday. What are they waiting for?

Reading from the first 34 answer it seems that contentment with mediocrity and lack of ambition are two answers. It may be bad here but it is worst elsewhere so it’s ok. Some seems to have a good life, which I am sure they have, and prefer to turn a blind eye on what is going on in their country or are ready to condone anything just for the sake of patriotism. Come on... give me more.

What planet do you live on?

As bad as it seems, this is still probably the best country to live in. But if things keep up the way they are, It's just a matter of time until the people get fed up with it all. Sylvan learning center shows how bad our education system is by reaching the students who fail in public school systems. And you don't need a Government probe into possible price gouging by oil companies. Highest ever profits already confirms this. Scandal and corruption occurs in all governments and is only curbed by the severity of the penalties when caught. The leaders of this country should be forced to live with the same penalties and laws that the general public does. This should include health care and pensions as well. Then and only then will it get better for all. As far as revolution goes what's the plan for after the fact?

We also live in a place that has HOOTERS, NASCAR, LAS VEGAS, and we can travel between the states without the need for "papers".
There are low wages, but there are also high wages. Our health care system is expensive, yes, but everybody gets the care they need, even illegal immigrants.
The free education system might be poor in some areas, but there are some free schools that do excellent work, and the schools for higher education are some of the best in the world.
Fraud and lies are the byproducts of having such a healthy and wealthy country. Some people just can't get enough of the good stuff.
I don't see a reason for a revolution. I see a need for people to kick up their moral values quotient a few notches, but that comes from within, just as realizing how good we really have it, comes from within. If it is your opinion that things are so bad, go live someplace else.

The news only shows a little bit of what America is like. If your opinion of America is based on the news, then I am sorry for you. I have been to several "third world countries" as well as have been to Iraq three times. The most unfortunate thing about a lot of Americans is that they take a lot of freedoms for granted. I am not saying that Americans are unaware, but running water, electricity, phones, owning more than one car, music, religious differences, TV, and Internet...all of these things are everyday things for Americans and most have never had to live without these things. The news also likes to show only sensational things to its viewers. The sad thing is that most things that are considered sensational is all the bad things that happen with politics, high society, and violence. Its a shame that good things rarely make it into the news today.

Good Question!

I am quite startled at the many "content" and "passive" spokespersons for ignorance that abound in this forum. I don't know if any of you are aware of this or not, but those of you who are of the mindset that revolution is not called for an inapropriate, should remember that our current "way of doing things" is largely a result of an American revolution. And unfortunately, it was the only one. Andrew Jackson said that we NEED, and must have a revolution EVERY 20 YEARS in order to disallow corruption to take root in our government. He suggested that if that did not happen, then our people will have become too lazy, fat, and appathetic to deserve domocracy and liberty.

We do in fact need a revolution today. The terrorists are on Pensylvania Avenue, Washington D.C, America.

Although the USA is aligned for revolution. (Being almost the same as France and Russia when they revolted) it is the belief of the average American that it is imposible to over throw the government because of its power. The only major attempt failed (The Civil War). But, a revolution is possible, given the number of troops stationed abroad

First of all, what country are you from? Second, if you lived in this one, you would know that the standards of living in this country, even for the poor, are better than just about anyone else's. If the people were so unhappy, there would be a revolution. So obviously, not many people feel the way you do.

I think you overstate the problems in the USA. I for one am fairly happy with the way things are. Alot of my destiny is still determined by me. However it is in the declaration of independence that we have a God Given right to dissolve our government whenever we want, good in theory, could be bloody in real life.

***I read your update. You don't give any specifics.Low wages? there is a minimum wage which for many thats not enough, there are CEO's that make way too much. But alot of us make inbetween the 2 extremes, I'm doing fairly well and I still control my own destiny. Fraud? The fraudsters get theirs...Look at Skilling & Lay. Lies? ....We have the freest and most independent press in the world. Eventually everyone gets caught.
Sure we could improve. I just reject your charactarization of how bad it is here. Definitely not so bad as to warrant armed rebellion. What is your situation? What would you rise up for ?

It is going to take the poor people of the United States to rise up and march for revolution. The United States government does a good job of keeping the poor people in this country well fed and housed. They are too complacent to rise up.

If you bring your low wages to my house, I can help you start a revolution. You need to be hungry enough to be angry and you have to be angry enough to fight for what you believe in.

Come up with a plan and I can help you.

You obviously live in another country. You do not have a clue as to how this country works.

If you do live here, then you are an idiot. Try living in Brazil on $50 a week, or in China on less.

The biggest source of lies and scandal is morons like you who spew conjecture and nonsense based on your 1st grade education and lack of common intelligence.
