Why do guys have a hard time with conversation??

lolll i for one, only stay quiet when the other person is quiet.... so....
but about your guys, i don't know... maybe they are bad conversationalist... maybe they don't know what to talk about with you... maybe they are just plain nervous
so yeah check who's making efforts to keep the conversation up in the begining...
oh and also if you see them try hard, help them a bit by stretching your comments and stories a little

For me I have to know the person more before I open up which leaves small talk and thats it, which doesn't take up too much time. But if the person I am talking to is able to open up and talk about themselves to a certain degree, then I can get a better fix on whether I want them as a friend. Although the only downside to this is that by not talking much my stories bore people or I can't explain things very well. I also prefer listening to people and just finding out who they are, interesting things they have done. I would say if after so many times of talking to a guy and he still doesn't give you anything but small talk then he isn't interested in talking to you. Oh and I think anybody who drowns another person out with too much on themselves isn't that interested in anyone but themselves. Also conversations don't have to be about a person, but about current events who knows get a guy talking about things in the news eventually all conversations lead to personal events.

They're nervous. Give them a little time. BTW, I do know some VERY talkative guys who I am positive have not had a quiet moment in their life. I've known them since birth...relatives. I am pretty sure they probably made a$$es of themselves many times, but they just talk their way through it.

Most guys just are not into a lot of conversation. They say what needs to be said quickly and to the point.

I think it's because so many girls babble on and on and on that a guy can't get a word in edgewise! My husband loves to say:
"two guys can sit in the same room, watch a game on tv and not say anything... and neither one worries if the other is pissed of at him!"

Usually guys think alot!
Sometimes they think what girlies are talking/thinking.
If a girl is attractive then also some of them hesitate.
Guys think much of girls.
Mostly they care (and natural thing), but fear can't dare.

In my opinion guys try to lay back and just let the girl do the talking..they want to be cool.calm.and collected.If you know what I mean?
