The "cracking" sound you here when your back cracks, or any other joint, is a cavatation. Your joints have fluid inside them that lubricates the joint, allowing it to move freely. That fluid has nitrogen gas dissolved in it, sort of like cola has carbon dioxide disolved in it. When you release the pressure off a can of soda by opening it, the gas forms bubbles. When you stretch a joint out, the pressure is removed from that joint and the nitrogen fluid comes out in bubble form. This is the pop you hear. It's not dangerous, and in 15 minutes or so the gas disolves again. The reason your back maybe cracking when you take a deep breath is because you may have some joints in your body that aren't moving as well, so other joints take up the extra motion and it stretches causing the pop. There aren't any bad side effects of this.

I dont think thats normal. My chest cracks sometimes when i take deep breaths, so i guess that makes me not normal too.

mine only cracks when i turn side to side or bend back far, so if u do that while u breathe then it might be normal, but it sound kinda weird. dont worry about it but at ur next doctors appointment, maybe u should mention it
