Well whenever I am in doubt about these things on this topic I like to watch old Planet of the Apes movies. It kind of explains everything and nothing at all. It all kind of brings to a head the chicken and egg theory of which came first. IDK but very fascinating :-?

I have always had a hard time considering myself a Monkey's Nephew!
I supposed we may have to reconsider things if we travel to other stars and planets and find other civilazations who drew the same concepts of their own species evolving from lower forms. Especially if they have no God or Jesus stories to tell.
But until then we have to go with facts and the Bible and Religion is as much, if not more of a fact than Darwin.
This is not to say Darwin should be taught, but a theory is a theory until it's proven and some would and can say the Bible and Creationism is also a loose theory (archaeologists can't document anything about Ramses and Moses with artificats, nor can they document Jesus with artifacts, in fact what we have suggests the Bible has things wrong, such as the manger, experts, even theological experts, say it probably wasn't wooden, but was a brick or concrete like basin, of which we find in Bethlem that dates back centuries).
All children should be armed with facts and allowed to go out into the world and draw their own conclusions.
Einstein, speaking of the Randomists, once said "God doesn't play craps."
The universe, according to Einstein, was not a roll of the dice, but something that had a firm, cosimic whatever. A soul, A plan. A pattern.
Einstein seems to accept God and doesn't have kind things to say of the Ranomists.
Darwin is an ultimate Randomist. Things just got mixed up in the soup and somewhere down the line through seredipty and natural biochemistry we came about!
That's evolution.

It is not exactly correct to say that we evolved from apes. The theory of evolution places man on the primate branch, which includes apes. The argument is that we and other primates have a common ancestor. That ancestor is lost to the mists of time. This is one of the weaknesses of the theory. The so called missing link has never been found. If the theory is true, it seems very likely that we would have found fossil evidence by now, but alas, we have not. On the other hand there is evidence that animals, and even plants, adapt to new environments. Sometimes this even happens very quickly in the course of a few centuries. This would seem to lend credence to the theory of evolution which really amounts to a series of adaptations over a very long period of time. I know I'm waffling. That is because, I believe the jury is still out on evolution. I expect that there is truth in the theory, but not enough to explain all that we see in creation. Ah, there I've said it. I believe that it will be necessary to accept both creation, meaning a creator, and an ongoing process, like evolution, in order to really make sense out of who we are.

No self respecting scientist says that we evolved from apes. They do say that apes and man may have evolved from another species millions of years ago and split off on their own evolutionary branch. Religious groups would like to you believe that evolutionary theory says that we evolved from apes to make it sound ridiculous, but it just isn't true.

There is no macroevolutionary evidence and they've never found even a HINT of a transitional species. Darwin even said that his theory isn't believeable because there are no transitional species.
Mamma says that the chemicals are self sustaining and self replicating which is also a bunch of hooey or they would have been able to replicate it in the lab.
Evolutionists say that virus's are evolving and that's their "proof", but viruses can't even replicate unless they have a host.
The only thing that makes sense is that we had to be created....I mean look at the platypus. It's it's own species....God had to have a sense of humor and I think He was just showing us how creative he is!

well, our dna only differs from monkeys 2%.i think we descended from a common ancestor
as the ape.(like on that movie underworld. where one guy had 2 sons one was vampire and one werewolf.)we don't come from apes just descend from the same type of being.
i think god created cells and atoms and the universe.then gave us the energy and ability to
grow and evolve into plants, then animals, then
eventually homo-sapiens(humans).
we see evidence of evolution everywhere.in my lifetime even for example,.
over the last decade the woodpeckers in the woods behind my house, there beaks
have grown larger because people have brought foreign trees and planted them in there home .the trees have thicker trunks and thicker
branches.so they adapted to the new trees by growing tougher, bigger beaks.
but that was only a small part of evolution .
huge, noticable effects take thousands and millions of years.
i hope this answered your question.

The matter is not yet clear. We are decedent of one man from Africa living between 50,000 to 2,00.000 years back.. Rest of the human generations have been lost. There appears to be no truth that we evolved from apes.

first off, long answers blow. I am talkin to you mac momma. I made the apes out of play dough. I brought them to life one day when I accidentally left it out in the rain at the top of a large metal pole. they dun got hit by lightning, and that is how the apes came to be real... but the story of how snakes became real is a much better one... too bad I wont tell you it. =P

We share more genetically with Broccoli than with the ape family.
If we descended form apes, how come there are still apes?
Darwinists are a very religiously fanatical bunch.

The fact that you ask this question under 'religion & spirituality' suggest that you expect or want a 'religious' answer (e.g. life was created by God.
While nobody can say that for sure, but certainly, the overwhelming scientific evidence suggests that Darwinian evolution is more than sufficient to explain the origins of life.
One can believe whatever one wants, but it is important to separate belief from facts. One can not subject beliefs to reasoning, but to understand facts, one has to apply reason, logic and an unbiased attitude.
So once you start to reason, it is clear that origin of life needs no intervention by God. Science can handle it.

My opinion is... God created us, just as we are. He made Adam from the dust, and Eve from Adam's rib. I find that much easier to believe than that we first started out as a little germ and some how became human beings. If that was true why aren't there any missing links running around?
