The owners need to know that their dog bites. They may even make arrangements to tie up their dog when you are going to be skateboarding on their street. but, whatever the outcome, they need to be aware that they have a biting dog. it may save someone great injury.
I wouldn't worry about the dog being rabid, as it is a territorial kind of bite, not a manic rabies kind, and the dog isn't likely to be rabid....Would make a good reason to make the contact, though..to ask if the dog has had his shots.

This falls under the category of a "no brain er". You need to contact the owners of this dog to let them know that they are A. Chasing pedestrians on the road, and B. The dogs have actually bitten you. If this animal didn't break the skin, the chances of you contracting an infectious virus are slim. If you are in fear of returning to the house because of the dogs, try driving up to the house and honking the horn. This way the owners can come outside. You could also type the address into Google.com and get information on the owner, and maybe even the phone number. Good Luck to you ~Matt

Absolutely!! You should let the owners know that their dog bit you, and ask if the dog is current on all vaccinations, not just rabies! Think what could have happened if you were a young kid, and the dog got the best of you. It's best that the owners know that the dog bites. Be pleasent about it when you approach the owners. Try a little kindness, especially if you're not hurt or upset about the incident anyway. Courtesy goes along ways towards respect.

Yes. First you should verify that the dogs are current on their rabies vaccines. Second, you should notify the owners that the dogs do have tendency to bite. Your not mad, but the next person they bite or bite at may get mad and if the next person pushes it, the dogs could be made to be euthanized. If you tell the owners now, maybe they will secure the dogs so that it doesn't happen again. You should let the owners know for the safety of other people as well as for the safety of the dogs.

If the dog bit you, chances are it is going to bite someone else, who isn't rollerblading down a hill and really hurt them.
You need to contact animal control, take pictures of the bruise, and probably have it looked at even if the skin wasn't broken. I wouldn't run to the ER though unless shin is broken or torn.
I would NOT contact the owners, let animal control do that.

sorry to hear about your misfortune. I'm glad it didn't cause
you much discomfort , however, I think it is important that you do contact the owner of the dog and let him know that the dog did attack you. I also think it would be
a good idea if you let a doctor look at the bruise and make a report to the county to see if the dog have his rabies shots and that bill should be presented to the owner of the dog. and any event. good luck with the
rollerblading and the dogs.

I would speak with the owners and let them know what happened. I don't think that you should take action against the dog (obviously) but the owners need to know that they should be taking proper care of their dogs. If you don't observe that the owners have done anything next time you go by I would call the local S.P.C.A. because the dogs could be being abused.

Yes, contact the owners and make sure those dogs are up on their shots so you don't have to get any. And if the owner refuses to control the dogs- well, there was this family in a residential neighborhood who kept a dangerous dog. And wouldn't control it. The thing tried to attack me thrice, and the third time I had enough and called animal control.

If it didn't break the skin/draw blood there really isn't any reason to. If you don't think the dogs were being vicious, they probably weren't. Besides, they would not be allowed loose if they were dangerous. If it did break the skin though, you might want to ask the owner to see the dog's rabies tag.

If it were me, I would. Not because I were mad or anything like that, but if the dog is aggressive, the owners need to know. True, it might have only been excited, but still. What if it were someone's child that was bitten?
