If you already own Nikon lenses the D200 would have to be the choice. The images from the D200 are far superior to those of the D70 in both noise and sharpness.

However since you did mention Canon, the 30D, which is in the same price range as the D200, is much better in low light, high ISO conditions as the images produced are quite noticeably cleaner and lower in noise.

Definitely Nikon!!! I have a Nikon F65 as well as the D50 and I can interchange all the Nikon lenses that I've invested in...it saves a bit of money which is a real plus for a university student like myself. I would have bought the D200 but that's about half a years tuition. I'm extremely happy with my D50, it takes breathtaking pictures.

For film, the camera I prefer is Cannon Rebel. For digital, Olympus Camedia. The thing with digital cameras is that , bigger isn't always better, and it's not always simple to understand or learn. The Rebel and Camedia are the best I've ever used. Teh photo quality is excellent. Although there are times, I wish I had the digital rebel, or even a new lense for my rebel. But lenses are so difficult to choose.

Get the D200 if you have the $$$. Better than the Canon, better than the D70.

I have a Olympus C8080wz and it is very easy to use and has very high quality pictures. It has several preset settings S, A, P, sports, night, and also a manual mode so, you can set all the options the way you want. It has two memory cards slots on the camera Compact flash and XD. It also has RAW format and video with sound.
It is a 8MP so, size is not a problem. Check out my yahoo group to see some of my photos that I have taken with it.

Take Care,
Chuck,
