Exactly what it sounds like----it tastes like mint, but it's the consistency of jelly.

ShellRe is right- it is made for and fantastic with lamb. Mint sauce was originally prpared for lamb, but then early immigrants to the U.S. started making jelly or jam out of it so it was preserved in the days before refrigeration. If you have never had lamb, be sure to also have some Grey Poupon on hand as well. I enjoy both, but I think that I am partial to the mustard.

It's a savory jelly not for sandwiches or sweets. It's great on lamb roast. Or thinned down as a glaze to cook or grill. It really is delicious. Try it the next time you have lamb. YUM!
