Which 'electric' car gets the best *real* road (not merely manuf. specs) gas mileage?

On the highway (90% of my family's driving), that is.

I'm interested in the maker, and specific model info. Also, is it bettter to wait until next year's models are out in the fall?

The Honda Insight does better, but it isn't a family car. More of a two-seater plus.

We get 50-52 mpg in our '05 Toyota Prius in mostly highway driving. If I try, I can get 55 mpg or so on the highway. In town would be better.

45-48 mpg in the (Alaskan) winter due to wet and snowy roads, thicker cold air, and time spent idling to warm up the car.

I believe it's the Yaris, not the Prius. Also a Toyota.
