The earth runs out of those natural resources more quickly, and we are left in the dark. If you browse around Answers, you may notice all the buzz about global warming. Using more energy and fossil fuels increases global warming.
However, more environmentally safe, alternate forms of energy, such as wind energy, ethanol, bio diesel, solar power, etc. are being researched and implemented. The problem is that these programs are not being funded, so they are moving forth at a very slow pace. Some may not be ready when we really need them, or we may not be able to manufacture and implement them for various reasons(such as not enough corn and fermentation plants for ethanol, not enough wind turbines for wind energy, etc.)

We are not in danger of taking too much electricity from the world. Energy is neither created nor destroyed. The heat we release in the process of collecting energy from chemical sources, like oil or coal, is the problem we are faced with right now. I think your question needs to reworded a little for clarity. However, I think your point is, we have global warming due to the process we currently use to generate electricity, what will the end effect be? Please watch the film, "An Inconvenient Truth."

I think that using too much electricity adds to global warming. It also adds to noise pollution. Go deep into the woods sometime and just notice how quiet it is there. Eventually all the natural resources of the earth will be mined out and used up. I think excessive mining adds to the freqence of earthquakes. Mother
Nature is trying to tell us something. Oh to be able to harness lightening..

Depleting natural resources is bad for us and for the planet. Using too much electricity can cause black outs and power problems. Windmills and water power are efficient systems. Nuclear power is a dangerous system. We need to become more conservative in our power usage. Turn off the light.
