Hi Bergice. To answer your thought-provoking question, I don't live my life to be remembered. I try to be self-reliant and an upstanding citizen. I don't lie, I don't steal and I don't gossip against my fellow man. My heart is a kind, open door, as are my arms to a friend in need. I don't always succeed in showing a good example to my children (who are great guys by the way), but I will die trying.
.
And when I am gone, I won't need a fancy send-off, memorials or tearful testimonials. If only one person thinks of me and smiles with warmth, then my trip will have been worth it.

Ignore these hurtful, immature people who have nothing better to do with their time. I don't know you in person either, but I greatly admire you from afar. Luv, Pixxie ♥ :)

omg these people are so rude on here. Very sad to hear about Poison Ivy passing away......I would like to be remembered as a person who loved her family with all her heart and soul. That I tried to find the good in the people that did me wrong, and that I was a good mom, wife, friend, sister, daughter....

Lots of love to you old hippie.......these people are so ignorant on here sometimes, just make assumptions which in turn makes them an ***.

This weekend was a strong dose of reality for me....not good.
I tried to be as much support for two very close loved ones. Two separate problems. Very bad weekend. (I think I said that all ready)
I only hope that what I said or did these past few days was helpful, and that they remember what I said. I don't care if it is necessarily me they remembered. Only time can heal the pain of things that we cannot control. Sorry, I think I am off topic a bit, but you always have a few words of wisdom for us.

I can't believe the rudeness with which others have answered this question.

I hope that the people I care about remember me as generous, loyal, loving, and funny... a little funny at least... and as someone that knew what was really important, someone who was truly alive.

My condolences to you and the rest of Poison Ivy's friends. I did not get the chance to know her, but I've read her blog and she seemed lovely. *hugs*

Hey man. Is this incredible or not? I spent 8 years in Nam. You have a Purple Heart., for what? Defend these punks rights to hate. hahahaha. My hat goes off to you brother. I came back unwounded. I can't wait, for this country to start a draft back up. We will lose the population 25 and under. woooooooo hoooooooo

They will shag to canada as usual. hahahaha.

Walk a path, people remember Christ. People need they're "Eyes on Jesus", not man.

Have a great weekend.

It's not what you take with you when you leave this earth, it is the memories of you that you leave with others..
I hope that people will remember me as someone with a sense of humor, willing to help others, a hard worker and as someone that took the time to listen and be a good friend, and someone that loved the Lord.

I don't care if I am remembered. But I do care if I touch people's lives in positive ways. So that is what I try to do each day. And I know that you do too. Your friend was lucky to have you in her life. And you were lucky to have her in yours.

With any luck the immature on this site will eventually learn what it means to love people and make their words and actions meaningful and not a joke and a waste of time.

Good evening, friend - hope today was better for you than yesterday. What will I be remembered for? Well...hopefully for being a good mom (cause I've got the world's most wonderful daughter and she is a blessing!), for being a good listener and (mostly) kind (smarta** answers here being beside the point); and definitely for having the most warped sense of humor ever!
To those of you who insist on being hateful - please can it, the world already has enough ugliness in it without your contributions. Hippie, you're a treasure and a blessing, keep smilin' sweetie.

everyone wants to die knowing that people will remember them when they past away. i want to make a positive influence in others' lifes. Its kinda sad, really. Many people kill themselves, because they want attention and to be remembered. If you happen to stumble across a person (even if you do not know them) and you sense that they are having a bad day, confort them and wish them a good day. you never know when a simple gesture could lift someone's day. ask yourself, if you died right now- would you have any regrets? is there anything that you wanted to do but kept on putting it off? did you touch a person a day (not physically). ? is there anyone that you teased and where are they right now? did you accomplish your life goals?

where would you in up?- heaven or hell?

We old hippies always try our best to help the befuddled askers, either to inform them of the Truth, or to spread Cheer to the Humorless. Peace Brother. Love.
