Sleeping a lot is normal for a baby, which is what he is.
However ... tiny dogs, esp tiny breed puppies, need to eat every few hours, and have a risk of anemia and low blood sugar if they don't, which can cause them to sleep more.
Have him checked out by your vet, so you can be advised if this is a problem, and how and what to feed it to avoid this.
Good Luck with your new friend!!

Only 8 weeks? He's a baby. Babies like to sleep. My poodle did the same thing. He grew out of it. Some are just like that.

Sleeping alot for 8 weeks isn't uncommon because he's still just an itty bitty baby, but if your concerned that he's sleeping too much it's probably best if you have him checked over by your vet.
