What Does Islam Say about Terrorism?
Islam, a religion of mercy, does not permit terrorism. In the Qur’an, God has said: (God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers.) (Qur’an, 60:8)
The Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) used to prohibit soldiers from killing women and children, and he would advise them: {...Do not betray, do not be excessive, do not kill a newborn child.}
And he also said: {Whoever has killed a person having a treaty with the Muslims shall not smell the fragrance of Paradise, though its fragrance is found for a span of forty years.}
Also, the Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) has forbidden punishment with fire. He once listed murder as the second of the major sins, and he even warned that on the Day of Judgment, {The first cases to be adjudicated between people on the Day of Judgment will be those of bloodshed (killing and injuring).}
Muslims are even encouraged to be kind to animals and are forbidden to hurt them. Once the Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) said: {A woman was punished because she imprisoned a cat until it died. On account of this, she was doomed to Hell. While she imprisoned it, she did not give the cat food or drink, nor did she free it to eat the insects of the earth. }
He also said that a man gave a very thirsty dog a drink, so God forgave his sins for this action. The Prophet (mercy and peace of God be upon him) was asked: “Messenger of God, are we rewarded for kindness towards animals?”
He said: { There is a reward for kindness to every living animal
or human. }
Additionally, while taking the life of an animal for food, Muslims are commanded to do so in a manner that causes the least amount of fright and suffering possible. The Prophet Muhammad (mercy and peace of God be upon him) said: {When you slaughter an animal, do so in the best way. One should sharpen his knife to reduce the suffering of the animal. }
In light of these and other Islamic texts, the act of inciting terror in the hearts of defenseless civilians, the wholesale destruction of buildings and properties, the bombing and maiming of innocent men, women, and children are all forbidden and detestable acts according to Islam and the Muslims. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the vast majority have nothing to do with the violent events some have associated with Muslims. If an individual Muslim were to commit an act of terrorism, this person would be guilty of violating the laws of Islam.

No -terrorists are terrorists. Some just happen to claim to be Muslim. Terrorists also come in other varieties - IRA, PLO, Tim McVeigh (wasn't he Christian?). A good many Christians have not read the bible (from which their religion is based) let alone the Quran. A good many Muslims have not read the Quran either. It is a shame when religion is twisted to satisfy people's political agendas. However I believe that this has been happening since the beginning of organized religion across all faiths.

You are right. The reason that men fear muslims is out of fear of the unknown. Also, terrorists are using the Kuran as the basis of what they are doing- much like fundamentalist Christians use the bible to preach odd crap like the world ending on a certain day, and that all non-Christians will go to Hell (they think that if you don't believe what they do, that you are wrong).I learned so much in my religions class about Islam, and also Judaism. I think that Muslim women are repressed because of their religion, but if they choose to live like that in the United States, then it is their choice, they have that freedom. Of course, Catholicism is not much better. Women are taught not to believe in birth control and get stuck with having litters of kids. So, all religions are not perfect. It is just a matter of finding a religion that fits the best for each individual person, and of course, as long as a person's religion doesn't hurt anyone else, no one should be treated badly because of what or how they believe. After all, look at all of the Eastern philosophies that have been around for eons before Christianity even existed, and they are not bad either!
Getting back to your questions- I learned that the only difference between Christianity and Islam is that Islam says there was another prophet after Jesus. Christians do not accept this, Islam does. Islam's book the Kuran supports this man's teachings, which was about peace. For all of you who are reading this- Muslims believe in god- they just call him by another name. I am not Muslim, I just learned a lot of this in my religions class. I for one, am very glad it was part of the mandatory curriculum.

Not all muslims are terrorists, that is just a stereotype that many people have made since the attacks on the US since 9/11. There just as many people from other religious backgrounds that commit crimes or terrorist acts. It's just that Muslims are getting a lot of attention because of everything that's going on right now. So you shouldn't feel that everyone "hates" Muslims because I'm sure that people don't. I hope that answered your question, and I'm very sorry you feel that way.

All muslims support terrorism. And if you think Islam isn't all about death, murder, mayhem and incredible evil then you haven't bothered to read the Quran, Hadiths, Sunnas and aren't listening to the clerics. Islam is out in the open about these things.
And here is something for you to think about. What does it mean that Muhammad spoke the satanic verses?
http://answering-islam.org.uk/Responses/Saifullah/sverses.htm
Please note that no authority in Islam denies that he spoke the satanic verses. What they do is refuse to acknowledge the implications of this and go out of their way to avoid discussing the issue with the faithful. When Rushdie revealed this to the non-muslim world, they tried to have him killed. They were trying to cover this up from us. Now that everyone knows, it is no longer an issue. But, I think it raises some interesting questions that all muslims should consider:
1. If Muhammad spoke the satanic verses, how could he be a true prophet? Only false prophets can be possessed by satan. True prophets are protected by God. The very fact that Muhammad spoke the satanic verses at all, proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is a false prophet.
2. If those verses were added to the Quran and then later removed, this means the Quran is not a perfect, unalterable, literal word of God. It has been changed. It actually has been changed MANY times in the past and this can be easily proven. But that's another post. Also, who is to say that the rest of it isn't actually the word of satan. Or that random parts of it are. There certainly are many parts of the Quran that demand muslims to do incredible acts of despicable evil under pain of death. Those certainly sound like something that satan would force a false prophet to say. The Quran is just a book. And much of the Quran obviously advocates evil.
3. Who is to say Muhammad didn't continue to be possessed after he spoke the satanic verses. Around this time is when he became extremely violent and regularly engaged in acts of depraved evil (also not in dispute by muslim authorities I might add). Further, the history is Islam is one continuous story of these kinds of evil acts and this continues to this day and is widespread in every single country where there are alot of muslims. Islam is a religion of evil. The reason is quite clear. Muhammad was possessed by satan and this formed the basis of Islam.
You can see why most people (rightly) believe that all muslims are terrorists and evil doers. Your religion demands that you do these things and punishes you with death if you refuse.
The question is why do muslims cooperate with this. Aren't you ashamed to be involved in such evil? And knowing about the satanic verses, why do you continue to follow the evil example of Muhammad? At best Muhammad betrayed God and did the work of satan. More likely, he never was a prophet of God....NEVER. He has lead you into incredible evil. Isn't it time you admit this and leave Islam?

My dear you just have to watch the news and the miseducation that it likes to portray. The United States media has doomed the muslim religion as terrorists. The whole world has forgotten the early years of Christianity when the Spanish Inquisition put to death thousands of innocents or the colonists of our nation burned women at the stake for being "witches". Or that Malcolm X journeyed to the middle east to find that the Koran doesn't mean hate and he ate with others at the same table who were whites, blacks, middle easterners, and others. Ignorance, miseducation, and stubborness will haunt this situation for decades. The Koran speaks of peacefulness, but if someone who has other intentions then the world will base their opinion on the most negative events rather than the benefit of the doubt.

That implies not all muslims are terrorists
Some people believe Muslims are terrorists because of the acts and teachings of Muhammad in the Koran and the Hadiths

The vested interests in western media have painted that picture mainly capitalizing on the ignorance of many societies about the teachings of Islam. Some bigots among the Muslims have been blown out of poroportion by this very media and the western powers (particularly US) are presenting them as the representative of the whole Muslim world. And remember, it was the same powers that created them in the first instance, when they suited their policies and interest. I've yet to see such a character in my contacts.

When I first heard the horrible news about the 9/11, I hoped those criminals were not Muslims, when the news started to tell about "Muslim suspects" who were on the planes, I thought it was just stupid allegations from the FBI, but .. they were Muslims.
What made me feel more sad is the news shots broadcasted from different Msulim countries that show the joy on the faces of the people!

The answer to your question is simple. . . perception.
The US news only shows the terrorist factions. They never, or very rarely, show the good things that the Muslims in the community do. Why? because good news doesn't sell - shocking news does.
I know very few Muslims, but the ones that I do know are very nice people who are ashamed of those that kill without regard.

I don't think all Muslims are terrorists..the terrorists themselves said they were Muslims..I know their are people claiming to be Christians who definitely are not. I thought the quran taught love why then are they taught so young to hate? I don't think we should stereotype for race, religion, gender, etc. We are all individuals and will all have to stand before God one day and answer for our personal sins.
