They were best friends, closer than brothers. They loved each other and cared for each other like brothers. They were not gay if that is what you would like to believe. They just did not let what society or the culture dictate how they felt for each other or stop that from making sure the other knew how much they cared for each other.

The Bible record is not shy in exposing David's sin. If he had sinned in this way that would have been exposed as well as the murder and adultery that he was involved in. The Bible teaching on same-sex sex is clear.
