Since I'm epileptic and don't drive the answer would be yes. All the damn time. I have those invisible brakes on the passenger side but it never slows my gf's car down.

no, but I had the accelerator stick to the floor!

What happened: road with three lanes in each direction. I'm in middle lane, guy ahead is going 25 in a 35, I signal to go around to the left, step on it, and the pedal sticks! I kill the ignition, see a side street on the right, look into the 2 right lanes to make a safe escape and pull the car onto the side street. I pop the hood, hop out, car parked at the left curb (facing wrong direction) I see a very bright spotlight in my face. The officer asks what I'm doing. I tell him "my throttle's stuck, wanna see?" He says "Yes" I start the car and the engine races. He says to me, "Great driving! Just get that fixed."
I adjust the cable and drive home.

if your brakes fail:
1) put the car in the lowest possible gear
2) use emergency brake to slow down
**) try not to turn off ignition, you lose power steering and may lock the steering wheel. Also, if the engine is off with an automatic transmission, you lose the engine braking effect of the transmission and it will "freewheel" or coast.

Yes....E-brake not to effective in a quick stop situation. Why do you need brakes? That is what the transmission is for.

Yes, had to use the emergency brakes and the stick shift to slow down. Fortunately, I had a lot of space before I had to stop.

YES!!!! very scary. i was on the freeway, with my youngest daughter in the back seat. i went to break as i approached my exit,......AND NOTHING!!!!! i had to frantically coast and steer! with the help of God and my guardian angels, i made it to a gas station and had to drive into a pile of mulch (bagged and for sale!) to stop my car!! i was 2 hours away from home. my brake line had deteriorated.

Yes a couple of times.....just use your emergency break, drive slowly, and stay far behind the other cars.

It can be scarey...get them fixed ASAP! Not safe!

Yes....that is why all cars are capable of being downshifted from drive to first gear......that and a muddy ditch will slow you down pretty quick.
