Keep it clean and trimmed every 4-6 weeks to take care of damaged ends. Massage your scalp and don't overbrush. Drink plenty of water and take vitamins. Even then, depending on genetics or the type of hair you have, it may not seem to grow as quickly as you like. I have very curly hair and even after seven years, mine barely went past my shoulders.

Growing healthy hair of any length requires a healthy scalp. Talk to your doctor or dermatologist about your diet; certain vitamins can help keep your hair and scalp healthy. Wash it every other day, unless you have a really greasy scalp. The reason I say every other day is because there are natural oils that your scalp exudes that your hair needs; taking those off every day, unless you have them in excess, can make your hair brittle and split.

Someone already mentioned getting a trim every 3-6 mos; that's good advice. Keeping the dead ends clipped keeps them from splitting further. As it grows, keep your hair tied back when you do something that could damage it, like working with tools. And be patient with your hair. It takes my hair nearly 3 years to grow from my neck to about the middle of my back.

Don't pay attention to the user that said that guys with long hair are gay. As a woman, I think men with well-kept long hair are extra sexy. Can't explain it, but it's true.

Watch out for headaches, though. Some people just can't have long hair because the hair is so heavy that it constantly drags on their scalp and causes headaches, even migraines. If you start having more headaches/migraines, and don't have a sinus infection or need a change in your eye prescription, consider perhaps your hair may be too long.

make sure you get your ends trimmed 2 times a year. If you don't, you'll get split ends that creep up your hair. Pieces breaking off at all different lengths. Just the very tipps cut off every once in a while is the best way to keep it healthy. The shampoo you use isn't as important as how you condition. Horse conditionder is the best stuff on earth. I'm not talking about Mane' and ' Tail or the other "horse" conditioner they sell at the drugstore. You actually have to go to a co'op or a feed store and get stuff made for horses. Pick something for show horses I like Nutriquest. Your hair will SHINE and stay managable all day.

Theres no real way you can force hair to grow quicker. But to grow long hair the best thing to do is to trim it every 2 to 3 months to keep it healthy and continue the growing process. The best way to promote hair growth to eat healthy foods. Also, while your in the shower massage your head which gets the blood flowing.

Make sure you've got a balanced diet, leaning a lil more to the protein side... and have it trimmed about every six weeks... they call it dusting, only taking the minimum to prevent split ends and damage. They do have vitamins that can help with hair growth, but realistically you can only expect about half an inch per month.

dont over dye it. many people swear that dying it kills your hair, but thats only if you over dye it. get a good conditioner, something in the little jar, I like clairol deep conditioner. get regular trims. TAKE PRENATAL VITAMINS!!! when i was pregnant, I took them and my nails and hair were both so long and healthy! the vitamins wont hurt you, they just add vitamins to your body for what the baby takes out. they are completely safe!

Don't cut it but have regular trims so the ends don't split. Stay away from the hair dryer and gels these are drying. Also don't brush it when it's we this will cause breaking and stretching.

Use garner frutics length and strangth conditioner (you can find it at most super wal-marts) and main and tail shampoo. (Can be found at sally beauty supply) it thickens hair and makes it grow. and the length and strangth makes split ends decrease.
Also geta hair cut evry 2 weeks to prevent the splits from comming back.
hope allthis works for u!!
