My son brought his dog Daisy, Cocker until she has her puppies and she is covered in fleas. I am wanting to know if it is safe to use flea product on her now.

The vet I work for says that Frontline is okay on pregnant dogs, or at least it is much better for her to have Frontline on her than to have loads of fleas!

It is especially important you get rid of the fleas now or you will have a terrible time getting them off the puppies!

It is best to talk to the Vet when it comes to pregnant, nursing or newborn puppy's.
I did research and found a link for you of FAQ for Bayer the maker of some of the flea/tick control products. You might want to look into something "safer" to get you through for a while. I have heard that using dish soap can work. Palmolive was offered as the best choice via Yahoo Answers.

I don't think it is, but you should really ask your vet. He might have a recommendation for a nice homeopathic shampoo that would help.

The vet told me no. She will be nursing soon and will effect the milk.

I think so---just not on the puppies when they are born.
