Hello. Am thinking about getting contact lenses and cant afford to pay alot. I have glasses now but they fog up so fast on me that they are no good even with anti fog on them. I hear of people buying disposables at wal mart and such but how does that work. Dont they need to be a certain perscription? Sorry if I sound dumb lol.

If you are a first time wearer, i suggest that you go to an optometrist to do a preliminary examination of your eye. Let time certify that your eyes are fit to fit contact lenses.

During the examination, they will check your prescription of your eyes, check your cornea curvature such that they can find a suitable lens curvature that suits your eye. In the market, there are many various curvature availiable, however not all curvature fits you.

Also, your eye health will be checked. The optometrist will give you proper instructions and advise on the handling of the lenses, proper method of inserting and removing your contact lenses. Furthermore, they will also work according to your budget to get you the best lens for you.

Do not buy the contact lens off the shelf as it is a very dangerous thing to do... In serious cases, it may cause blindness. SO, visit your optometrist if you are getting your contact lenses.

A box of Acuvue 2 contacts starts at $15 at Wal-Mart. 6 contacts come in a box. The Acuvue Advance (which is what I currently use) are about $5 more. I have to buy two boxes because I'm more nearsighted in my right eye than in my left. The Bausch & Lomb Night and Day lenses run about $60 a box.

contacts work for me quite well. I had my vision checked at Walmart for around $70. With that came a prescription for glasses and a prescription for contacts. Contacts at Walmart usually cost me about $18 for a box of 6. It's according to how weak your eyes are.

Contacts can also have foggy vision. Laser surgery isn't 100% guaranteed. Face it, you're doomed to be half-blind all your life. I am and work around it when I can.
