my concern i guess is about the sound quality..i have a box that was custom made for 2 Alpine type e 12 subs, but my borhter stole one of them and now i have 1 alpine and i recently recieved an old Rockford Fosgate 12" Punch Audiophile. I also have a custom box made for just the Rockford Fosgate, and another dual box for other subs that have been long gone.

I would think it would be important that the box have a devider between the two subs (almost all boxes do). If you don't have a devider and if one sub is more powerful than the other, you might have some sound cancelation. As for damage, you shouldn't have to worry about it unless you try to bump them way too hard where the less powerful sub has a better chance of burning out.

For the person who was all crabby about having a good sound system in your car, if you don't like it don't put one in. I have two 10" subs at 1200watts in my Trans Am. I also have a Pioneer Premiere in dash DVD player. If you sit inside my car to watch a movie, it is actually better than being at the theatre (other than having a small screen in front of you.

As long as their specs are about the same you shouldn't have a problem. One might require more space than the other though so you might want to check the specs on what space is required for each. I believe I would be cracking my foot off in my bro's arce if he stole from me.

There are so many factors as to WHY you shouldn't....

It really boils down to the T/S parameters and how close the two subs match and what "box air volume" each sub is designed for.

Anybody who needs plywood boxes and boom boom woofers are definitely not concerned with sound quality. You just want to 'impress' the ugly chicks next to you at a stop light.

ummm.... well i dont think so...... the one reason i can think of is the different sound quality each one of your speakers have and it can cause the sound to be unballanced

No problem so long as they are phased properly.
