I have for well over ten years. I am a guy and keep my hair reasonally short, not shoulder lenght. Of course get a hair clipper set, sold by the hair driers in most department stores, around $30. These sets sometimes come with an instructional CD, or a pull out sheet of paper on how to cut hair. The clippers have a set of guides or forks that snap on the front, choose the longest one first. Rule one, cut a VERY LITTLE HAIR at a time. If you make an mistake, you can trim off more. I always start cutting the hair on the side of my head, then back, and finally the front. I leave the hair at the front just a little longer. You get the best results if your hair is SLIGHTLY damp, not wet. When you comb and cut your hair it will stay in place, and you won't end up with longer strands of hair that were missed (which happens if your hair is dry). Get a hand mirror so you can check out how it looks around the back of your head, and of course cut your hair in the bathroom using that mirror. To get the fuzz off the back of your neck and make a straight line get one of those stretchy sweat bands and align it at the bottom of your hair line at the back, then use the clippers cutting ACROSS, not up and down to clean up the fuzz. I place an old bath towel over the bathroom sink, so the hair falls in it, making clean up after wards pretty quick. Of course ask someone how it looks afterwards. If you have really long hair and just want to tidy it up, good luck, I don't know what you would do. I hope this helps.

I am a stylist. I do cut my own hair ( at least the layers and bangs) But I don't cut the length because bad things can happen. Since you have not had training I would only attempt the bangs. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Yes, I have cut my own hair for many years.
It isn't easy, but after awhile you get used to it.
I always make sure it is all evenly cut, using
a second mirror to check the back of my head.
I have had my hair cut a few time by a professional
but every time I had to re-cut when I got home.
Besides, it saves me big bucks. $$$.

i use scissors to cut my own hair. i just trim a little off the ends and then pull the back around and trim a little more. then i make sure it's all even. beats paying $30 at the salon.

I shave mine now, but used to cut it by myself. I bought a Conair clipper set from WalMart and used the #2 clipper and just put my head over a trash can and tried to cut it all evenly. It saved a lot of money.

I've been cutting my own hair for seven years. Don't try it yourself. I've been through cosmetology school. Without proper training--the results can only be bad...very bad.
