does lemon juice really lighten dark hair w/ the rays of the sun?

is there something i can do naturally (not w/ time)that wont make my hair possibly turn an orangey?

and how long should i do this for?

yep, but be careful. My friend had dark brown hair and it turned bright orange in the places where she put the lemon juice.

the acid in pure lemon juice stripps the hair of the built up residue which makes it appear lighter. It will not make it alot lighter. Also if you are using something like well water which is high in iron the lemon juice will help strip it and appear less orangey.... Hope this helps

The active ingrediants work without UV light - you don't really need a blow dryer, either - you could let it dry naturally... the heat bakes your hair a little better : ) If you don't have light hair don't use it! My hair is really light, so it does look "sun-kissed"... my hair always had "roots" in the fall 'cause the sun bleaches it easily... but if you have brown hair it will probably turn orange and the roots will probably look bad!

yes, my sis and i tried it. her hair was not as thick as mine so it got lighter than my hair, which is real thick.

if you don't want it to be orangey, use refridgerated LIME [as in green lemons, not yellow!!!!!] and squirt and put it on your hair. Wait like an hour out in the sun, and results will be seen.

it will not make your hair orange. it just naturally hightlights your hair. i have been doing this for years. just take real lemon and squeeze into your hair and comb thru and let the sun do the rest. it is NOT going to make your hair blonde if you have dark hair, but it will highlight it.

yes, lemon juice does work some depending on exposure to sunlight. i have done it myself. i think the lemon juice strips the hair of all buildup and exposes the natural hair to sunlight. (i think)
