me and my husband are quiting smoking and are using the patch. he is nervous, jittery, and tired. i'm wanting to know why he has these symotoms and if there are any ways to help them.

well it is either too strong of a patch or not strong enough. Try to do more activities and work out so he won't be so jittery. I'd keep on the patch for a little and exercise but if farther complications occur call your doctor.

The jitters is your body's nicotene withdrawl. Do not use the patch. The patch is a trick to keep you hooked on nicotene and smoking. Without using the patch, physical withdrawl is over in only three days. 3 Days! Keep yourself busy and maybe take some ibuprofen for three days, and then it is just a mental thing after that. But as long as you are using the patch, you'll be fighting your mind, and your body as well. (Good for you on quitting! My mom spent a tenth of her life with cancer and didn't quit smoking until the cigarettes did it for her, and it was not pretty.)

Perhaps there is too much nicotine in that patch. Consider trying the next level down. (stage) A phone call to a doctor is a good idea as well, they are generally quite willing to help their patients quit. Good Luck and remember you can do it!

i don't know, I took the patch off and got myself a pack of cigarettes :-)

start jogging, the pain in your legs will take your mind off the jitters.
