umm i think the coffee pot grinds beans and has the white cupcake cover like things and u have to add water somewhere but that is about all i know

first you fill the glass decanter(coffe pot) with water, the amt you want to turn into coffe ie 1-12 cups then you pour the water into the back of the coffee maker where the lid is, next you get the cupcake cover thingy...(filter) and put the amt of coffee you want in there , you dont fill it full unless you want a super geek of caffeine, then you put the filter full of coffee into the coffee filter holder just below where u put the water in ...usually it has a swinging door or a removeable holder. then you turn on the coffee pot and let it do its job. read the coffee lable it has the proper amt of coffee (pre-ground) you need to put in the filter IE....1,2,3,4,5,6, teaspoons or purchase the kind that is pre-measured and already in the filter. you cant mess that up...or go to starbucks

what is the difference there are not many ways that you can make coffee but with a real coffee pot unless you are going to use a tea pot and hot water

is it a new machine? if all else fails, read the instructions. If not a new machine and no instructions search the net for the manual.
