I use "Just for Me Kids" (its mild enough to straighten my hair but not break it like adult perms.)

When you relax your hair, no matter what relaxer you use, you run the risk of damage. Deep conditioning, hot oil treatments, and regular trims can help combat breakage and brittle ends. Dry brittle hair and hair breakage is a sign of over processing.
Also, don't be fooled by those relaxers that say they contain moisturizers. They probably do, but you hair doesn't see much of it during the chemical processing.

Listen to Madam Butta's answer, she is hitting the nose on the head with that answer I am a master cosmologists. Now if you can stop using over the counter relaxers that contain calcium in the which will dry out you hair over a period of time. If u have to use any use one that is already mix together with the activator. Motions like one girl said or TCB has one also. u probably over-process it too. deep conditioner once a week for a month a least. Mizani Sensitive Scalp is good to that's what I use.

Personally, I use Ultrasheen Supreme (it has 2 kits in the box) and alternate every 3 or 4 perms with Pink Moisturizer touch-up kits. I condition with Pro-V Relaxed and Natural after every relaxer. (I use the whole line of Pro-V Relaxed & Natural anyway.)
BUT, the thing that seems to be working best is to use Parnevu Tea Tree Oil after relaxing and washing. I've been doing that now and I find that I don't have to grease my hair at all and it stays moisturized yet "swingy" and it's been growing really good now. I have a really bad problem with dandruff and I can go a whole week without seeing one flake.

Yes, seeing a professional. Don't try to do this yourself. No matter what anyone says, you can seriously cause the dryness and breakage you're trying to avoid.

Never relax your hair by yourself. Go to a beauty parlor and ask for Matrix...it lasts for four months...and your hair is soft afterwards.
