If you think depression is an illness that can be treated effectively with antidepressants, then absolutely. (that's how I feel)

However, if you think everyone who needs to take antidepressants are crazy, then you should stay away from him.

Being a guy I would not date a guy on antidepressants, but I would date a girl on them.

Being on antidepressants doesn't mean a person is crazy or has a lot of problems. Most of the time its just a chemical imbalance in the brain and the antidepressants helps regulate the chemicals, and eventually the person can be weaned off the pills.

I have. Don't do it. Run the other way. FAST! If you think that you can change him or fix him or cure him, you can't. No matter what you do for him it will never change the situation, which actually has nothing to do with you at all. It is a miserable situation to find yourself in love with someone who can't really see any good in life or past his own misery. The guy I was seeing saw no hope in life at all and I could not live like that.

I shouldn't judge your guy, I don't know him or his individual circumstances, I only know from my own experience and it was bad.

However, if you just want to sleep with him, go for it. Emotional attachment will be hard though.

A person taking antidepressants is not crazy or dangerous. He simply has a chemical imbalance of Serotonin which causes anxiety attacks and severe depression, and it is very common.
If you dump him because of his mental condition, you will probably make it worse for him. But if your only dating him because he is hot, he might be better off without you.

Sure, am married to someone who has suffered depression for many many years. He finally went on antidepressants for 10 years and it has done wonders for him.

Yes you should. If you like the person, there is no need to re-think your emotions just for medications. I'm going out with someone who's like this, and it can be hard at times, but in the end its all worth it. Those medications are there to help, and just because he's medications doesn't mean that he's a psycho.

Sure - I'd just make sure that he or she was in the right place in his life for a relationship - As long as the depression isn't serious.

Everyone deserves the chance to be free from judgement, especially when it comes to emotions. Be communicative and use your intuition to find out he is ready to start dating.

Sure. You may want to check out the site NoLongeLonely.com. Maybe you'll see me there.

Is he stable enough for a relationship? Then definitely. Hot is kind of the word that puts me off- I'm looking for intelligent, sensitive, creative, similar views politically...

If I was a girl, I would not date a guy on any type of psychiatric medication. He is most likely a total pussy and can't handle his own problems without taking pills as a cop out. Plus, he could be a complete psycho.
