Like most things it depends how much of an effort you put into it and if you really want it to work. If the two of you are not really going to be open to the idea but you're going just to say you gave it a try then more than likely it will not work. If you really want to make things work but you need that objective input then best of luck!!!!!

Is this Marriage Counseling or Pre-Marital Counseling?
Pre-Marital Counseling is very important and does work. It can help you uncover areas that may cause problems later in your marriage that you never thought about before. This way, these issues can be dealt with before the wedding.
Marriage Counseling after the wedding does work, but you both have to be committed to saving the marriage. One of you can not save the marriage if the other person doesnt really want to.

It works if you BOTH want to work it out AND you've found a counselor the two of you work well with.
Otherwise, it won't.
