just for background, I never really liked the dog, so she has no reason to want in my room, but right now shes scratching at the door like crazy so I put her outside but I was trying to get her outside and she ran around the whole house before I got her outside and he ears are perked back and shes jumping at the door, and shes very old and never moves faster than a slow walk and I'm a bit worried

It could be the fireworks. The dog is old and the fireworks could throw her into a heart attack. When shooting off the fireworks try and turn a radio up a little louder than usual to drown out the sound easier this may help calm her. My neighbor gives her dog 1 benadryl pill when we shoot fireworks or my boys target practice to put her dog in sleep land. Call your vet about doing that first though.

It would depend on the age of the dog. Most Dog's will live past 10 years old. Australian Sheep Dog Mixes, such as a Chow, usually with good health will live till 13 or 14.
If there is extra Noise around the house, like fireworks, the Dog may be confused. Will do strange things.
If there are people around the house more lately then she is use to, she will act strange.
Keep something else in mind, Dog's can since things that you can not. Just pay a little attention and the dog will tell you what is wrong.
Good Luck!

If there are fireworks that is probably it. She is old and her hearing is not as good so she runs away; something she doesn't know and if your sister is upset that could upset her too. the stress is not good for her. she wanted in your room probably because it was quite, and she knew you were in there. She didn't want to be alone. She was looking to you for comfort. Don't put her outside she could have a heart attack. To calm her down tell your sister to give her some childrens benidril. or even a childrens asprin

it is possible that the dog is upset due to the fireworks, i have considered getting tranqulizers for one of my dogs to get them through the holdiay vets recommend them because it clams them down without side affects being stressed is very hard on a dog. also animals have great senses she probably knows something is not right with your sister and it has gotten her worked up. between the two, the fireworks and the vibe your sister is putting off she probably doesn't know what to do.

it could be a lot of things, sounds like the dog might be getting senile. best thing to do to make sure is take the dog to the vet for a checkup, better safe than sorry.
