It can, but, if at all possible, I do everything I can to prevent it from happening. I know this may sound weird, but I try my best not to throw up when the flu hits. There is that brief five second period where it gets caught in the esophagus before it finally starts to flow out of the mouth, and I have always had this fear that I may choke to death before it releases.

No not really. It is more like a cold but 50 times worse - body aches, fever, chills, cough, runny nose. Some people might throw up but I would say it is the exception not the rule. (Oh I am referring to influenza)

If your puking it could be from alot of things. Are you running a fever and achy and stuff like that? You may need to go to the doctor and get antibiotics.
