I met this girl and I want to take her out to Manhattan. We're both new around here so we don't know any good places.
What I'm looking for is some place where we could hang out, nothing over the top, no clubs please. She's not the partying type.

1. p.j. clark's-casual-oyster bar-good entrees and burgers-not expensive
2. angelo's-make resv.-check dress code/i think casual-italian-in little italy
3. the palm-make resv.-casual-great steaks and lobster-expensive but not real bad-the side dishes are huge!
4. joe allen's-make a resv. after the broadway plays let out(around 10:00-10:30)-a table in the bar area-casual dining-celebrity's frequent this restaurant.
5. Ferraro's(i'm not sure if i spelled the name right)-italian pastry's-they are wonderful-located in little italy-ask around the city for the street where most of the pastry shops are on in little italy

Go to Serendipity. It's a cute dessert place on 60th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue. As the name of the restaurant suggests, it was featured in the movie of the same title. They're famous for their "frozen hot chocolate." Beware though, the line can extend from 2-3 hours if you visit the restaurant on a particularly busy night.

There's a really cool Irish pub down in Greenwich Village called Fiddlesticks. I really enjoyed killing a few hours (and pints) there when I was visiting Manhattan. Laid back, cozy areas, frequently music (but you can sit far enough away if you just want to talk).

i would go to Joe's Shanghai in Chinatown, you should really try the crabmeat soupbuns there, they are really outstanding
