A typical Christian- Who made the world? My mom said God did it so, it must be true. I can't think of anything else.

A typical Atheist -Who made the world? My mom said God did it but where is the evidence? What if someone's lying?

A typical Christian-If I believe that god exist and he doesn't, I have nothing to lose but if I believe he doesn't exist and he does, I might go to hell so, I would just believe to stay on the safe side.

A typical Atheist-If I dont believe god exist, they claim I will go to hell but what if hell doesn't even exist? Are they trying to control me with fear? Now i'm even more suspicious. I'm a good person so if god does exist and is sending good people to hell, he's evil himself and can't be trusted.

A typical Christian-How could atheists look at this wonderful perfect world and dont think that god made it?

A typical Atheist-Christians must be delusional to actually believe that there's an invisible man in the sky causing hurricanes

The Christian version of the answers given are not what a true believer would say. No two would likely give the same answer, but let me try to help enlighten you.

A typical Christian- Who made the world? The Lord. The Holy Bible is God's word. The Lord has assured me Himself His word is true.

A typical Christian-If I believe that god exist and he doesn't, I have nothing to lose but if I believe he doesn't exist and he does, I might go to hell so, I would just believe to stay on the safe side.
REALITY: Faith derived from not wanting to go to hell is not faith at all. We are saved by faith alone. One must beleive within their heart, not just their words.

A typical Christian-How could atheists look at this wonderful perfect world and dont think that god made it?
REALITY: I will pray that the Lord brings light to atheists and reveals the the truth to them.

The truth is there is no typical Christian or typical Atheist. And any religious curricula that tries to espouse such information is doing so to avoid explaining what a good Christian or a good Atheist would give: the truth as to why they believe what they believe. It's one thing to do it to children when they cannot understand your answers, it's another thing when you give that answer to your entire family.

And if your entire cornerstone for faith is bargaining which religion gives you the better deal in the afterlife, then you don't believe in it. You practice it. You believe in it when you as an Atheist make the most of the short and brief life you have and make the world a better place for others as well as yourself and loved ones, or as a Christian when you believe in Jesus Christ and live your life as best to his example of compassion and forgiveness as you can. Atheism and Christianity can both be quite peaceful: the difference is approach.

Atheists aren't loathesome people who hate life and religious people. They don't need 'witnessing' until they come around. They are human beings and deserve the same compassion and dignity you'd extend to anyone else.

Christians aren't people who make bad hair-do choices on TBN or trying to take over the country through a doctrine of fear and ignorance. They aren't stupid or weak-minded, either. They are also human beings who deserve the same compassion and dignity you'd extend to anyone else.

(BTW: for the record, I'm Secular Humanist... I'll bat for either team.)

Let me see if I can put this in YOUR language....
A Typical Christian - Believe were created by a God who loves each one of us. Believe He created this Beautiful World. Through His Sacrificed Son we can have Peace, Joy, and Go to Heaven to be with Jesus when we die and want all others to have the same!

A Typical Atheist - Believe we came from dust just for living a good life, but it really doesn't matter if you don't because their is no God to be judging you when you die, and you just end up dust.

TOTAL ANSWER!~ LOOKS LIKE A WIN-WIN SITUATION FOR CHRISTIANS.

Atheists on the other hand, if you're wrong?.............

No such aspect. An atheist believes in NO god/desses. that could comprise Allah,Ganesh, Kali, Isis, Thor, Gaia, Danu, etc...maximum English speaking consumers are on right here and are raised Christian, yet i'd say my morals & beliefs are from a blend of empathy & society. i'm professional-determination, and so are many Xians and that i'm also vegetarian. The Bible is amazingly contradictory. That total 'no longer killing' aspect? distinct Xians do not look to have a topic with production facility farms, the shortcoming of existence penalty or going to conflict. And in case you study the OT, you do not ought to pass a options to study some tale the position the 'chosen ones' are commanded to kill. There are over 30,000 Xian denom's accessible...there's a reason.

"Typical"? It's not nice to stereotype people like this. I don't believe there is a God because my mom told me He exists - I believe in God because there's proof all around that He's real and when you have Him in you heart you just have this peace about you that couldn't come from anything or anyone except God. It's not a question of wondering if He exists - He DOES exist and He is EVERYWHERE - you stand to lose everything if you don't believe in Him and His love and accept Him into your heart! And it's not a question of "I might go to hell" if I don't believe in Him - it's you will go to hell if you don't believe in God and ask Him into your heart!

As an atheist, I think you're semi-correct. Personally though, I'm not all that worried about the religious trying to control me with fear, and I don't have any internal debates over the existence of hell.

To be a Christian, you have to admit that your not as good a person as an atheist.

Christianity claims to be a revealed religion. It says that God is there and has revealed himself to humans.

Christianity says that disasters like hurricanes are caused by sin which entered the universe so nature is not operating as it did in the beginning.

I am a Christian, and I personally believe this world is hell. God cast Adam and Eve out of Eden and left this terrible place for us, not that we didn't deserve it. And I believe in God because He showed me-He gave me-faith through the actions that happeneed to me in life, not b/c I could go to hell if I didn't believe in Him. So no not all Christians think that way.

Please listen to me, You're going to think I'm crazy when I say this but when you accept Jesus into your heart, you actually feel his presence! It's like you don't need proof or hear your mama say it to believe it! You just simply know and are at peace about it! Christians are considered "narrow minded" because we are so strong in our beliefs, that's because we know there's a God in Heaven who loves us and we feel him, I'm not a "Mad Christian" at you for posting your question, you have a right to wonder and make a point and statement. God loves you very much! Please return the favor.
