Several possibilities...

You could have low numbers or ineffective platelets

You could have excessively fragile blood vessels--capillaries are the most common

You could have inadequate supplies of clotting proteins (There's a dozen of them) or other interference with the clotting cascade

There's others, but those are the common ones

On the whole, simple blood tests can sort a lot of this out--CBC with platelets, PT and PTT are the quick and easy stuff. I'd say cheap, but none of the stuff we do is cheap anymore...

Depending on your age, it could be a variety of things. If you take medications containing aspirin (check the labels) a good bit, this is a natural blood thinner and can cause you to bruise very easily. If you are anemic (you would have other symptoms such as being tired more than usual, feeling weak, sometimes dizziness) then you can get prenatal vitamins (even if you aren't pregnant). They have a high amount of iron in them and they are great for your skin, hair and nails as well. If you are older (I don't know your age), our skin thins as we age and becomes more susceptible to bruising because the blood vessels under the skin become weaker and rupture easily. Check any pain relievers that you have for any aspirin content, if they contain aspirin, try switching to one that doesn't and see if the bruising becomes less. Hope this helps.

When I was a woman in my late 20's, I too bruised easily. After a medical exam, the doctor told me that I needed to eat more meats, and fruits, for breakfast. And to eat every 3 hours, small meals, like maby a cup of youget, of an apple. My blood sugar was dropping by mid- morning. Well that fixed my problm , best of luck with yours.

You could possibly be anemic - Go see the doctor for a blood test(or your local health department) - You may need more iron in your diet.

It could very well be you don't have enough potassium in your system. Try eating more bananas. But you may want to see your doctor to check for sure.
