I'm a Christian but I have always been confused about this. If your body stays in the grave until Jesus returns, how would you know your family members when you get to Heaven? Would you be able to see their faces of would Jesus just tell you who they are. Have you ever wondered about this? My mother is waiting for me and I don't know how I am going to tell who she is.

The first thing to realise is people could easily look different in heaven from the way they do on earth. We know this because when Jesus was resurrected from the dead his close friends didn't recognise him until he had spoken to them. This shows that there is a similarity to the earthly appearance, but not close enough for immediate recognition.
The second thing is the person on earth has been affected by aging and the world around us, while the person in heaven has not. I'm guessing, but I think your mother would look closer to what she looked like in her early 20's than in her latter years. Just remember, I'm guessing.
I think it's wonderful you want to meet her there.

Well, I have always been taught that you don't go to haven when you die...you sleep an eternal sleep, until the Lord comes, then ,rise the good first and we all go up at once. Because if you think about it Haven would not be a happy beautifull place if we had to watch our loved ones suffer here on earth.
Read these from the Bible be for you decide if I am wrong or not.
Job 14:12, 21
psalm 104: 29
Psalms 146:4
Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10
Daniel 12: 2
Hope this helps .... God Bless, Karen
PS, I don't have verses for this one but I don't think and know that you will know your mom...So don't worry..The only diff will be..We will love each other the same..We won't know how to love someone more that the other...

When your flesh body dies, your soul instantly returns to the Father and puts on the incoruptable spirit body. There you stay to await the judgement of Christ and the dispensation of the eternity.
Where you spend that eternity depends on your actions in this world. The good and faithfull servant is rewarded acording to his/her works( the only thing we take along with us ! ) and the reprobates are distroyed in the lake of fire at the Great White Throne judement. When you get to heaven you will know your family when you see them because your mind will have the full use of all its potential. Most people on earth can only use about 10%. Extraordinary people use as much as 15%.

You are confused because what you are being taught is confusing.
The Bible does not teach that all go to heaven.
The Bible shows that there are two classes.
At Luke 12:32 Jesus refers to the ones who have a heavenly calling as the "little flock".These ones will go to heaven to rule as kings and priests with Christ over the earth. They number 144,000.(Rev.14:1-4).
At Rev.7:9 we learn of a "great crowd" and at John 10:16 Jesus refers to "other sheep".These are the ones who will reside on the earth.
At Acts. 24:15 we are assured that there is going to be "a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous" so all those, like your mum and my dad will be given an opportunity lto ive again and serve the only true God,Jehovah.Eccl.9:5 says-"The living are conscious that they will die,but as for the dead they are conscious of nothing at all.'The Bible compares death to a deep sleep. Also, at Gen.3:19,Jehovah said to Adam "...you will return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are,and to dust you will return."
So what the Bible teaches is this:
144,000 spirit annointed christians will go to heaven to be associated rulers with Christ over the earth.
The rest of us die and go back to the ground from which we came.We remain in God's memory and in God's due time will be resurrected and given the opportunity to serve God.While the dead await a resurrection, they are not aware of anything at all.Like the flame of a candle, when it goes out its gone.So too, when we die we are no more.
There are also those will not never see death. These ones who have remained faithful will survive Armageddon,God's war against the policitical element of this system and the wicked who chose not to follow God.
They will be ushered into God's new system of things. The earth will be renewed.Mankind will be brought back to perfection. The dead will be resurrected. There will never again be sorrow, pain, suffering, death.Satan will eventually be done away with. And man will enjoy everlasting life on a paradise earth just as Jehovah had originally intended.
Rev.21:3,4;Dan.2:44;
Ps.37:9-11,29;Pr.2:21;
To understand the Bible more fully and accurately, why not pop into your local kingdom hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, who would be only too happy to conduct a free home bible study with you,and answer any questions you may have.

I am not picking on you or anything but I would like to point out, you are worried for nothing. You believe she is waiting for you when (IF you) get to heaven. Its not going to be like losing a family member in the mall.

In heaven its not like here on earth. We lose our old limited way of looking at things.., even physics have no bearing. We will relate to family members differently - although I believe it will be a joyous occasion.

Please to not fret over something like this. It really doesn't matter if loved one did or did not make it to heaven - let the dead bury the dead - as for we who are alive and remain, let us live for Christ and secure our place.

when we arrive in heaven we wont recognize anyone and spirits dint have eyes so maybe we wont see either.lol some things you just need to trust God on.you trust your employer to give you a paycheck . You don't demand a bank statement from him or ask to see that he has the cash he intends to pay you so why cant you trust the very being that created you and everything you see feel taste and touch, If you want to understand what we will be like read in the bible about Jesus when he was in his resurrected body

WHAT JESUS SAID ABOUT DEATH

Jesus Christ spoke about the condition of the dead. He did so with regard to Lazarus, a man whom he knew well and who had died. Jesus told his disciples: “Lazarus our friend has gone to rest.” The disciples thought that Jesus meant that Lazarus was resting in sleep, recovering from an illness. They were wrong. Jesus explained: “Lazarus has died.” (John 11:11-14) Notice that Jesus compared death to rest and sleep. Lazarus was neither in heaven nor in a burning hell. He was not meeting angels or ancestors. Lazarus was not being reborn as another human. He was at rest in death, as though in a deep sleep without dreams. Other scriptures also compare death to sleep. For example, when the disciple Stephen was stoned to death, the Bible says that he “fell asleep.” (Acts 7:60) Similarly, the apostle Paul wrote about some in his day who had “fallen asleep” in death.—1 Corinthians 15:6.

The Bible teaches that the dead “are conscious of nothing at all.” They are not alive and have no conscious existence anywhere. The account of Lazarus confirms this. Upon returning to life, did Lazarus thrill people with descriptions of heaven? Or did he terrify them with horrible tales about a burning hell? No. The Bible contains no such words from Lazarus. During the four days that he was dead, he had been “conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Lazarus had simply been sleeping in death.—John 11:11.
The account of Lazarus also teaches us that the resurrection is a reality, not a mere myth. Jesus raised Lazarus in front of a crowd of eyewitnesses. Even the religious leaders, who hated Jesus, did not deny this miracle.

Think about this too: If Lazarus had been in heaven for those four days, would he not have said something about it?— And if he had been in heaven, would Jesus have made him come back to earth from that wonderful place?— Of course not!

Yet, many people say that we have a soul, and they say that the soul lives on after the body dies. They say that Lazarus’ soul was alive somewhere. But the Bible does not say that. It says that God made the first man Adam “a living soul.” Gen. 2:7, Adam was a soul. The Bible also says that when Adam sinned, he died. He became a “dead soul,” and he returned to the dust from which he had been made. The Bible also says that all Adam’s offspring inherited sin and death too.

The Scriptural teaching of the resurrection, however, is not compatible with the doctrine of the immortality of the soul. If an immortal soul survived death, no one would need to be resurrected, or brought back to life. Indeed, Martha expressed no thought about an immortal soul that was living on elsewhere after death. She did not believe that Lazarus had already gone to some spirit realm to continue his existence. On the contrary, she showed her faith in God’s purpose to reverse the effects of death. She said: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” (John 11:23, 24) Likewise, Lazarus himself related no experiences of some afterlife. There was nothing to report.

Clearly, according to the Bible, the soul dies and the remedy for death is the resurrection.

Your soul will know their soul. It's very likely that the souls of those close to you have been in previous incarnations (lives) of your soul's lives, and your soul in theirs. Also, it's likely your souls were in agreement when to incarnate, as to be on the earth at the same time. (There are no "co-incidences God's Universe".)

You are one experience that your soul will have, and it will have more after you, and did before you.
