The holy spirit overcame Mary and inpregnated her. Was Mary married to the holy spirit at the time? If not wasn't jesus concieved out of wedlock? Was the sex between Mary and the holy spirit consensual? If she didn't yell oh yes yes wouldn't that be technically rape? Why is it that there are two different geneologies for Jesus that contridict each other? What difference does it make what Joeseph's liniage was - he wasn't the father was he? So the only liniage that would matter is Mary's why bog us down with his step dad?

Concieved out of wedlock equals *******. Sex or whatever with someone other than your spouse equals adultry.Knowing who your fathered by means just that -concieved outside of wedlock and then a hasty marriage to cover it up even if it is to the dad still equals *******.

AS in life, there are things we will never know for sure....but if YOU had a daughter and she showed up one day about 3 months along, what would you tell your family and neighbors...remember...this bunch lived with people who had a real itchy stoning finger! And, if you are going to tell a story, the bigger the whopper, the more believable it is..true today and true then. So, why not turn a mess into a situation that brings you glory. Seems to work everytime.

Careful. You are close to a shocking secret.

Jesus was circumsiced by a rabbi when he was eight days old -- that would ONLY happen if he were a LEGITIMATE son.

Joseph was the stepfather.

Mary never said anything except "Let It Be."

The answer you look for is right there in the Bible and in the history of Judea at that time. I'm afraid to give you any hints. You may be having fun needling people with this, but if you poke well enough you'll receive a shock.

The Holy Spirit didn't have sex with Mary. She conceived but not by sex. That's why she was still a virgin. That's why it is called Immaculate Conception.

No, you are wrong and have a very distorted and child-like view on who God is. Why is it that people like you, when talking about God, always have to relate it to something sexual? Surely a complex as the human brain is, you could think of a more intelligent question than this.

Have a nice day.

Really!...It makes no sense for you to come on a religious/spiritual site if you're not going to believe the Word of God!....I suggest you first, get saved, go to church and learn the things of GOD and stop listening to demons of lieing tongues!.....check out the sunday worship and attend, get into some Bible Studies!...good luck!

Mary agreed to the situation.
It wasn't sexual.
Joseph was the adopted father and there was a legal link to Joseph's family.

Psalms 2: 7-"'I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, 'You are My Son, today I have begotten You.''" There are many stories in the Truth or God(Bible) of barren women have miraculous virgin births.

That was stupid. It's the Bible, not Ripley's Believe It or Not. No matter what you believe, the bible is correct and a spirit can not "rape" a human so technically....you're wrong.
