I was always picked on because I wore hand-me-downs...I just ignored it but sometimes it gets annoying...Just tell your son that everyone is different and if we all wore the same clothes we wouldn't stand out (in a good way) and we would all be boring.

Okay, here's what I do.....First, shop sales. It's a real pain in the stores but very simple to check out many store sale quickly on-line. Second...Thrift stores. Not just any but drive to ones as close to "ritzy" neighborhoods as you can. You'll be amazed at all the name brand you can get there.
Here's what I found out with my kids....as long at they are wearing a name brand shirt and the very cheapest pair of name brand shoes, pants don't really matter as long as they are clean, fit and not outdated. They don't have to even have 'trendy' shoes, just name brand and you can buy NIKE on clearence for $20 if you shop around.
Also, you can petition your school board to switch to uniforms. It's very cost efficient and you'll be saving the lives of many other parents in your situation!

I know I did growing up. My grammy used to buy me all of these clothes and I got picked on because we didnt have what others had. But I am okay now - and still dont buy the best clothes because I learned to not care what others say or try not to impress others :)

No.But i'm a child myself and if somebody picks on u for what u wear or believe or anything different from others. That sometimes means that they are jealous,or something is bothering them.Or somethings they are just mad or angry or sad or any feeling and that is when they like to take it out on u.

I got picked on when I was a kid but if your having a problem you could always check out garage sales in the rich neighborhoods or go to outlet stores.

no but if that has happened to your child im really sorry =( its a harsh world out there and kids are really really mean. Just show your kid a lot of attention and maybe that will make them feel good.
