I remember flying over the Grand Canyon once going to California. I was also able to see The Statue of Liberty while landing at a New York airport. Was wondering what other interesting sights people have seen from the window of an airplane and where they were going.

I looked down into the volcano Kiluea when we flew from Hawaii...I saw the Mississippi River from 35000 ft.... I have seen the Rokcy Mountains from Arizona to Idaho from about 20,00 ft...

Going to Philly from Indy, I seen a rainbow. In fact we actually caught it on film.
Going to Casablanca, Morocco from Paris, France, I got to see Paris lit up at night. That was very breath taking. It looked like a maze of little lights.
Going to Indy from New York, I saw my apartment. I only know that because I live very close to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and my apartment was accrossed the street from the Coke a Cola lot. So I was able to recognize which building was mine. That was kinda cool.

I have not seen much out of the airplane window. I do not sit at the window, It makes me sick to my stomach. Just taking off and landing give me billions of stomach butterflies which would worsen if I could actually see the plane rising and coming down. But I have marvelled at the outline of houses and streets and how doll-like they look when I am brave enough to take a peak.

Coming into Sydney you get an awesome view of Sydney Harbour, the bridge and the Opera House. Also, when flying into Tokyo I got a view of Mount Fuji!

I FLEW ONE 4TH OF JULY...I GOT TO SEE FIREWORKS ACROSS THE COUNTRY...IT WAS WONDERFUL !!!
