I live on a hill close to mountains. I believe it does help your spirituality and mindfulness of God. It is hard to explain how or why it does; all I know is that I don't feel the same way when I'm down in town.

My own opinion comes from my agreement with the Baha'i Writings in which Baha'u'llah states something like that cities are for bodies and the countryside for souls. I think most cities are built in valleys, or on top of mountains; so, I think rather than to say living close to mountains, I would say living in the countryside. He warns us to LEAVE the cities and live in the countryside. My guess is that they're more healthful for us mentally, physically and spiritually.
BUT, I think the way to become more spiritual and/or more mindful of God in my life, whether or not in the mountains, the city or the countryside, is to obey the Laws of God, pray, serve others every opportunity, come together with my spiritual community, regularly, and contribute materially (money) for the betterment of my fellow man--and woman--people.

Possibly. The mountains are so freaking beautiful (like in WA state and Oregon), and I wish I still lived near them. It made me feel alot better after a crappy day at work when I saw beautiful mountain in the distance while driving home, it helped me realize the world is bigger than my little problems. So yeah, .... i think living close to mountains CAN make you feel more spiritual. (or for that matter, the beach if that is your favorite nature thing.).

I personally think, no, because living on the top of Everest wouldn't make you feel spiritual. Where ever you live if you know God and believe in him and have faith in him, that would probably make you more spiritual or more mindful of God.

Yes it does for me. Since I've moved to the mountains four years ago, I've felt much closer to God. Just being surrounded by these majestic tall trees, I am reminded that there is a presence of something greater than myself.
Being in the cities feels superficial, commericalism is so rampant that it feels empty and meaningless for me.

I think that anytime you live with or within view of majesty...mountains, oceans, vast expanses...you are more attuned to life and what life has to offer. You are also more aware of others lives, animals..elements and their wonder. Spiritual..yes, I think so. And I think this is a very good question.. a strong relief from so much I see here. Keep up the good work, and thanks.

I think that living close to nature makes people more spiritual. If you are confined to cities, you are surrounded by the things of man, and see little of God's miracle. Everything you see was made by men.
Out in the country, or in the mountains, or at the seashore, you are face-to-face with the miracle that is this earth. It is harder to ignore the majesty that created us.

You have to make sure you are worshipping the Creator, and not the creation.
If the mountains which you can see are awesome, just think what God must be like.

Personally, I feel closer to God when I'm at the beach. Of all the beautiful things God has made, I think He outdid Himself when He got to the place where the ocean meets the shore.

Yes.
Because of God's Spirit that is living inside me, I can realize more clearly the majesty of God.
Especially every time I'm up in an airplane, I am just in awe of his creation by the view from up there!
Psalm 19. 1-3
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.
