Not really. Maybe a little. But real time on the TV shows isn't the same. But make you think more before you do something wrong. All the killing I know about in the pass years they still get there man or woman. They will never be that intelligent. They will still mess up someplace. Most are dumb and on drugs and don't know what they are doing in the first place.

Your question pre-supposes that killers make logical decisions about their activities beforehand. Those that do...probably do watch CSI and learn about some things that would help them get away with a crime. Fortunately the VAST majority of killers do NOT get away with it. Because they don't go through a long, complicated planning process beforehand. If they were smart enough to do that, they wouldn't chose to kill! Face it, prisons aren't full of intelligent, well spoken, thoughtful, deliberate individuals... Those guys make the news big time because they're so rare.

I don`t think so. I think they show you that criminals...no matter how smart they think they are...are really not.
People kill for different reasons. There are Serial Killers, there are crimes of passion, premeditated and so on. You will not be able to get rid of all the evidence. The tiniest little blood splatter can give a clue. There will always be something left behind...Fiber, hair, blood, even animal hair can be analyzed now.

I never thought of that, but it's certainly possible. Whenever I watched those shows, I would pick up the mistakes the killer made and think of something they could have done differently. It's entirely possible that would-be killers could do the same.

No, they are trying to convince people that they are going to get caught. Do you actually think they are going to spend 3 days combing through bedroom carpet to identify the one stray pubic hair of the assailant? The reality is most labs are so backed up that a "simple" DNA test takes months and are so overburdened that the results are usually questionable.

I shout at the TV all the time! Don't tell them that! Face it criminals are not smart don't give them any help! I enjoy these shows but they tell way to much. I hope they are written above the level of the bad guys.

Just the opposite, it makes them see just how far Forensics have come and where they can go. No crime is unsolvable.

what you have to remember is that these shows are just that shows they're not going to show you all the tricks and secrets they use to catch the bad guys are they? so no I don't think they are helping criminals commit more crimes

As a rule criminals are stupid...let's be real there's too many ways a killer can be caught. Seriously.
