Is Geico a bad company?

They gave me an offer I could not refuse. So what do you guys think of them

To get insurance not to work there.

I joined them and my monthly payemnt is 50% less(no lie). They do rock!!!!!!!

Last year my car was caught in a flash flood and sadly my beloved car was totaled. The flood happened on a Monday night, by Tuesday morning I had a rental car at my front door, Thursday afternoon, the car had been towed away and I had a check in my hand for more than the car was worth and by Sunday, I had a new car.

Geico totally took care of me, they rock!

my car was hit by a person in the backend and Geico has tried everything they can not to pay for for repair, first they opened a case said no problem, then they closed the case and said I should go to my insurance company because they Geico had a coverage issue with the person who hit me. This should not be my problem why should I have to pay my deducible to have my insurance company fix my car. I was the one that got hit from the back go through an intersection. What a bunch of dishonorable people. Geico should been held accountable, I am open a complaint with the Insurance commissioner. Next step a lawyer. They should not be allowed to sell insurance in Georgia! Yes they are a very bad comapny

Companies like Geico, 21st Century and others target more of the price shopping audience. They have customers who want insurance based solely on the cost of the premium, not necessarily those who want the best protection. Frankly, they do not offer insurance products with acceptable limits of liability, so I do not think they are a good company.
Until they can offer coverage to *really* protect people in the event of a law suit after an accident involving injury or loss of use, they're not doing the job. If you get them, better hope you don't hit anyone.

I switched from Geico after I obtained a cheaper quote from USAA. I however was also upset with them regarding an issue with a claim I made. The original work was for $1400, however, the Geico approved shop I went to did a poor job. When I moved 3,000 miles away the bed of my truck fell off. They paid an additional $1200 for the extra repairs, but when USAA pulled my insurance report to give me a quote Geico stated I had a $2600 accident. At that point I was switching and the USAA agent told me it wouldn't make a difference in my quote so I didn't bother to fight it. Other than that though, I never had any issues with them.

Geico is part of the Warren Buffet empire. They are a solid insurance company with a good history of paying off claims with little in the way of litigation.

They are not as easy to get insured through as other companies, as they have a pretty high standard for driving record, age, income, and other demographic markers; however, they have strong customer service and claims service.

So, no, Geico isn't a bad company. Pretty good, as a matter of fact.

I HAVE HAD GEICO SINCE 1985. I ORIGINALLY SWITCHED FROM ALLSTATE INSURANCE AFTER A MILITARY BUDDY OF MINE TOLD ME ABOUT THEM. WELL 21 YEARS AND 2 ACCIDENTS LATER(BOTH NOT MY FAULT) I AM HAPPY!! THE COMMENT ABOUT THEM NOT ACCEPTING JUST ANYONE IS PARTIALLY CORRECT?? INFACT I STILL REMEMBER WHEN ONLY ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY OR FEDERAL EMPLOYEES COULD QUALITY. NOW THEY HAVE GONE NATIONWIDE, MUCH TO MY DISMAY. I LIKE THE FACT THAT THEY ARE PARTICULAR ABOUT WHO THEY ACCEPT. THAT KEEPS THE RATES DOWN FOR US DRIVERS THAT ARE RESPONSIBLE AND DESERVE TO PAY LESS!! SO IF YOU ARE A LOUSY DRIVER THEN PLEASE GO TO ALLSTATE OR STATE FARM. WE ONLY LIKE GOOD DRIVERS @ GEICO!!!!!!!!!!!!
