In Genisis God is called by three names, (which I believe supports the Holy Trinity...)
GOD in Gen. 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth."
LORD GOD in Gen 2:4 "These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens."
And THE VOICE OF THE LORD GOD in Gen 3:8 "They heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees in the garden."
Another verse that supports the Holy Trinity is Gen. 3:22
" And the Lord God said "Behold, the man has become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever: "

Elohim is used in Genesis 1
Others are Adonai and Hashem
To physics.nerd89: Jews still read the Torah in the original Hebrew. Have you seen the Dead Sea Scrolls?

The earliest concepts of God probably didn't come about under the same language, so it would definitely be impossible to tell. Back in cavemen time, people lived in tribe-like groups of up to 40 people (I think -- check Discovery info on that one), and much like today's African tribes, each had their own unique language. So who knows! Or will ever know?

Adam and Eve were the first humans and they used the divine name which is translated into English as "Jehovah". It seems that the angels must also have used that name even before the physical universe was created.

Humans did not begin to write until they had been around for tens of thousands of years. And, we didn't have tape recorders to record what they called their Gods.

You will have to go back before the bible was ever written. Before other religious books. They are just newer ideas of the people.
