My cat, Tigger is about 14-15 years old(I'm pretty sure), and I love her very much, and I'm afraid that shes grown too close to her life span. I don't know what kind of species of cat she is(if that matters in determing the life span). From what I hear the life span of a housecat is about 14-15 years old, and that worries me. I'd just like some kind of estimate. Thanks you guys. : )

A cat that is strictly inside can live to be 20 or more years. But nothing is guaranteed.

I know you love your kitty but remember all living things at some point die.
Just love her now and when her time comes know that she lived a lot longer than a lot of other cats and that she was loved here on Earth.

Do not worry about things you can not change.

They live approximately 9 to 20 years. The cat I had in high school was approximately 9 years old, when I lost him in the late 80s, but he was murdered. Or at least, that's what I thought. I know I heard a gun shot.

Cats nowadays can live comfortably 20 or 25 yrs. Just keep taking good care of Tigger, feed her quality cat food and be a good cat mommy to her and she'll do great! I love my cats too, I have 3 boy cats. :)

It's just like with people; it depends on the cat. Indoor cats tend to live longer than outdoor cats (less chance of getting hit by cars, etc.) 14-15 is pretty old for a cat, but they can sometimes live into their twenties.

My oldest cat lived to be 18. We knew the end was coming, though, because he became very listless, and did not want to be petted, held, ect, when before he had been very affectionate. House cat have lived into their 20's and even 30's, I believe. So, don't worry to much about your cat, just enjoy your time with her.

We just lost our dear Domino at age 15 1/2. The whole family is still grieving. Her life story is on my blog: jeannieallen.blogspot.com. So, from my experience, with lots of tlc, they can live to 15 1/2.

Indoor cats can live into their 20's.
As they get older, it's normal to think about losing them. The important thing is to love them and care for them while they are with you. Make sure to take pictures on your cat doing what she likes to do. (this includes sleeping, that's something cats do best!) And get pictures of the two of you playing or just hanging out.
Hopefully, and realistically, the two of you have lots of years together.
