I know about the nothing. I know. I'm somehow alive. Why is it not God's will for us to know everything? I'm half way there. I know the other half. But why? Why all this? Why this gift? Why has it become a curse? Why? Why? Why? Death to those who question more than they already know.

If knowledge is evil what happens when we seek more knowledge on God or The Bible.

Knowledge is not the problem. ACCURATE knowledge is always a good thing - treasure it, search for it, for knowledge is the beginning of true wisdom. Sadly, we are all born sinners - and it's not your fault, nor your parents' fault. It is the fault of the original sinners Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. From that time forward, the curse of sin has been passed through our genes and we suffer the effects of it still today. You can find these answers and many more in The Bible. God Bless.

We are not born sinners through our parents. But we are born under the sentence of death, which Adam (man) brought upon himself. We didn't condemn ourselves to death for trying to obtain knowledge, but rather for taking within ourselves the knowledge of BOTH good and evil. Actually, knowledge (or wisdom) is that which we all should try very hard to attain.

Let's approach at different angles, this one.

You've heard that truth is beauty and beauty is truth. From the feminist perspective, truth is what makes people desire and strive to perform good in the first place, which is why men, who tend to less than ambitious means, avoid truth to remain comfortable. In this manner, God could be trying to protect people from truth to make them comfortable.

Eastern approach: knowledge equals suffering. Knowledge is a burden that the human mind can only take so much of. More toil and work equals more thats taken from others, which makes them in turn suffer and seek knowledge to answer why, which makes them do the same. To shed away this suffering, the reduce the burden of the material world is to aid yourself and others. God could be trying to hide knowledge in this manner, but Daoists and Buddhists don't believe in God, so this is not their concern.

Or, to be really playful: the comic book approach. You saw Spiderman, right? Knowledge is power, and Uncle Ben says great power comes great responsibility, which is another word for accountability and risk. To know more is to shoulder more of a burden for people and to be responsible for those who do not know. Logic and reason creates it's own workload to maintain its order: to ignore such work is to discard that logic. God doesn't want us to know everything because people should limit their responsibility for others. (I'm guessing that's an indirect reason why people are against Gay Marriage, or marriage in any form really.)

Seriously, the secret of life: moderation and variety. Don't take too much of something, and for the love of cake, don't take the same thing over and over again. Knowledge is good in digestible forms: gaining too much without pacing yourself can affect other areas of your life, just like Alcohol can ruin someone with a family history of alcohol abuse, or a gambler who's addicted to gambling may want to play with plastic chips and avoid Vegas. You are still gambling, heck, even the winner may get a prize in a private game, but you risk nothing with plastic chips. Too much knowledge? Well, I'll be honest: most mean people and impatient types I've known are quite intelligent.

But no one really considers being a jerk a bad thing these days, I'm afraid. It does stand to reason though, that intelligence can be abused if taken too much. It can be bad if certain types of truth are made known even if they're small ones. It's all a matter of being careful in life.

BTW: I'm not really religious... I'm a secular humanist just playing a devil's advocate.

We are born sinners through the sins of Adam, not our parents.
If we knew everything we would be little gods. There would be no need for God. Any knowledge and any anything we have is a gift of God. Death...? God appreciates those who question things!

We are not born in sin. We are each born brand new, and innocent.

Knowledge is not evil.

Trust me on this one.

Life is good. We are here to live and learn. To grow. To become. To love. Knowledge is valuable for it's own sake.

You are good.

You are not cursed or marked with the sins of others. You are responsible for your own actions and choices.

You were not born damned, or in sin. Don't ever let anyone tell you any different.

The Pearl of great price.. Knowledge in itself is not evil. It's when "that's all you settle for" that it becomes a problem. This life is not to know everything...this life is to realize how little we do know. When we come to the place where we aren't fooled anymore by our minds, our thinking, our pride and arrogance, then true knowledge can begin. When we're too full of 'knowledge' there's no room for the divine dimension of life.

Just because Bible says world was created 6000 years ago and science tells you something much older than that doesn't make sceince wrong. It is possible that, that part of Bible is currepted (which many parts are, see the link below for a Christian scholar's quest to find the answer on who wrote the Bible).

Just because what one believes doesn't make something right, ask question, search for answers.

The movie below is 1 hour and 43 mins long.
