For example, if I ask you "Is it true that most Christians love to mow their lawns?" probably about 75% of you will answer the question as if I asked it seriously. So, what about it? Do you Christians like to mow your lawns more than anyone else?

OK That's fair. I was baptised and confirmed in the Episcopal Church at some point a very long time ago. I consider myself an agnostic, with a pretty strongly embedded Christian cultural hertiage and closeted Buddhist tendancies. My great grandfather on one side was a Methodist minister. I'm married to someone who was raised as a Communist, though his family's heritage was Islamic for many generations prior to that. When we got married we had a dual- Christian/Islamic ceremony. One of my bridesmaids was Jewish, and another a Buddhist. I'm not fond of my local Episcopal Church, which I consider too "high churchy" for my tastes. I don't like hypocrites who try to tell everyone else what to believe. And honestly I don't see anythnig vicious about lawn mowers.

I can hear it now:...."Oh gracious Heavenly Father, bless this lawnmower, your servant, that it may cut this lawn evenly and without blemish, so that others may be blessed also by it's even surface. And Lord, bless this grass which is about to be cut down in it's prime, that it may feel no pain, but be received into Thy Kingdom whole and forgiven. Amen".

Just because someone is a christian or a Jew or an Indian all people have labels of some kind. That does not make everyone in that group the same. Not all Christians are dry, I know a lot that are really funny. Do not label people or make judgements lest ye be judged the same way. Keep an open mind. If we were all the same what a boring world this would be. Tunnel vision is not good.

I don't know. It's weird, isn't it? If you wrote a story, would it be a humourous one or a serious one? When people write down their thoughts and formulate answers, they don't always write what they would say face to face. Also, when you read an answer, you can't always hear the smile. You also don't know the person who is asking the question. In one sentence, the mood isn't always apparent. The questioner ALWAYS has a motive. What ticks me off is Christians who ask questions, already having the answer fixed in their minds. They just want others to "think" about it, then they pick the answer that agrees with their idea the most.

Mowing someone else's lawn as an anonymous surprise for them--worthwhile and fulfilling. Mowing my own lawn--boring and tedious. I can't speak for all Christians, but that's my perspective.

Or, I could say that God made my lawn perfect and beautiful, so I resent that the neighbors want me to change that by actually cutting the grass. :)

Well, according to Jeremiah 17:4...I have to say that your question is highly blasphemous! I mean, just because I'm a Christian doesn't mean I mow my lawn! Heathens mow my lawn for me! They're going to hell anyway, might as well get some use out of them while I can.

Um, I'm not Christian, but I don't have to mow my lawn cause I live in an apartment building. But where I used to live before, I had to mow about two acres. That sucked. and yes, I got the sarcasm of your question.

The joy of mowing my lawn has absolutely nothing to do with my Faith. My lawn, as well as anything else I am responsible for, is a reflection of my character, and is also a sign of respect to my neighbors. Who wants to live next door to a hayfield?

Maybe Christians have poor sense of humors from constantly being told to sit down and shut up.
In a society that touts acceptance they are unaccepted.
In a culture that preaches tolerance they aren't.
Whether your serious or not remember one thing:
God is perfect where humans are not.

christians today are no longer focused on the basis of their faith, which is the message of christ. The american church has instead infultrated their minds to lose focus on what jesus christ asked them to do in the first place- love. They no longer just love, they now protest, and try to shove their way of thinking down people throats. Christ never did this. If a group of people were not interested in what he had to say, he simply shook the dust of his shoes and kept walking
