There's several possible reasons your guy is doing the head movements. Parrots are known for inventing games, so it could be a form of entertainment for him. Another possibility is that he's anxious and it's a nervous habit, kind of like people who chew their finger nails. I know a Green Wing Macaw who 'dances' when he's in public. It's a nervous habit he does and once he's back home he stops. It's fun to watch though, especially when he screams 'NO!!!!' at Full Macaw volume!
Some birds will invent games when bored. Sometimes they'll swing their heads if they like the music being played at that moment or even if they're watching their favorite TV show. If you think it's boredom, try giving your guy a shower and make a huge fuss when you spray him. Who knows... he might start swinging his head to get sprayed more!
Hope that helps! ^.^ . Good luck!

Its most probably a sign of emotional stress. If intelligent animals don't get the exercise and interaction they require, behavioral problems usually manifest themselves. Erratic head movements in parrots usually indicate frustration and pent up energy. Make sure your bird gets enough exercise, or if it is cage bound, which i assume to be the case, get it a mate. This behavior is exactly the same as what people refer to as 'Stir Crazy'. Hope this helps.

Maybe your parrot likes dancing LOL, if it bothers you so much maybe you should take it to a vet, who would probably tell you it's normal behavior. But the vet would be able to explain to you the reason for your parrots behavior.

Well if your parrot is circling its head as it is maybe its not getting enough attencion. Make sure you give it a lot of attencion and maybe it might stop.Or it is probably just playing, all animals have a different way of playing.

I notice that too when I had one but they do a lot of silly things we human can't figure out. Birds are birds and humans are humans. Some times there are no answers to these things.
