I had heard about the Christian theme before seeing the movie and looked for the symbolism while I watched it. I thought it was very cool, especially towards the end as he is beaten mercilessly by those who hate him out of very selfish reasons... and following that was pretty much a recreation of the atonement in a super setting. Anyways, I am a mega fan of movies with deeper meanings and I thought this one was extra rad. Two thumbs up!

They were going after Superman with a cross? That's awesome. Fear the Christians.

I haven't seen the latest movie, but Superman is obviously a Christ story: a "super" being, not from earth, sent here by his father, after a war on their world, who saves humanity. Sound familiar?

its purely coincidental. superman, was invented by 2 jewish brothers in the 1930's. superman, and all his movies, were written and directed by jewish people. hence the names cal-el(superman), jor-el(supermans father). if you now anything about the jewish religion, you will know what "EL" in both of those names mean. christians are always looking for some sort of religious significance, or reaffermation in everything.

Did you know that GOD ALMIGHTY like's to be a MOVIE STAR!
Devil does too!
YOU can catch both of them in the Movie's.
Alot of Religious People didn't like Jesus Christ---SuperStar
That movie helped me to get SAVED!
I love that music to this day.
Big thing's go on in the Spiritual REALM, when People go to the MOVIE's.
Small thing's happen in the Super-natural Realm too, unforunately.
Ditto!

I wish I had a Kryptonite cross, because then you could keep both Devil AND Superman away.
