So heres the problem. I have a bad hair style if I dont use hair gel.I dont really spike my hair i justput it over my hair to make it look wet and to hold my hair in position. And I think after using gel for 3 months i am gettin acne around my face. Implanning to grow my hair tho so ii dont have to use gel. And as a teenager my mom always tells me not to use it so i can have a cleaner face. My doctor says that some gel does cause acne and my dermatologist says that hair gel doenst cause acne?
So who is right? Do you know if gel causes acne, pimpels,etc..? And my mom lately told me to use hair oil. Will it hold my hair and my it look wet liek a gel? Does anyone know the exact brand that i could go and buy in Duane Reade, Eckerd, Rite Aid, Walgreens,etc..?

The best things to use is Pantene Pro-V texture and shine pomade, and Head Wear Strung out styling goo. What also works is wax or hair glue.

Americancrew makes a palmade that definitely is perfect for acne-prone skin. My friend is a firm believer in this product and has used it for years. And his hair always looks great.

gel probably doesn't cause acne. but for lots of people, if you have ANYTHING on your face or covering/filling your pours, you are going to end up with acne. I was one of them. If you sweat or any feels like its getting on your face/forehead during the day, get some wet papertowels/tissue, and wipe it off. make sure to wash your face everynight before bed to make sure nothing stays on over night!!!!
